This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

A light color that is very hazy with a lasting bumpy white head. A lemon taste. Even though it is very hazy there is no yeast aroma. Remarkably mild in taste.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2010 (12 ounce bottle - pint glass) Has a cloudy yellow color. Below average head retention. Aroma is of wheat malt and banana, clove yeast. There is also a floral hop character in the nose. Taste has a medium sweetness and light bitter and even lighter sourness. Has notes of lemon, cloves, and bannana. Thin texture, soft carbonation and short dry bitter finish. I like this beer because you can taste each of the ingredients. Wheat malt, hops and yeast are all noticable to the nose and tounge, while not being overly complex.

12 ounce bottle from the 2010 Spring sampler. Pours a light hazy yellow color with a white head. Decent head and lacing. Aroma of bread, malts with citrus and floral hops. Taste is bitter citrus hops up front with caramel, citrus and bread/yeast notes. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a white fizzy head and aromas of lemons, cloves, a bit of wet paper or something like that, a little dough and honey. Flavor is pretty similar... has a doughy sweetness to the malt presence, a bit of a pepper and clove spiciness, and a lemony/grassy hops finish. First sip was not that compelling, but it has kind of grown on me a bit.

Suttreeís Nothing else to do in Mid-February Tasting. Sample from a bottle shared by me. Hazy yellow, white cover. Aroma is some wheat, some spiciness. Taste is spicy hops, a bit of sweet malt, ok but boring.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2011 Draft at RnH. Pours unclear orange with a white head. The aroma is wheaty and lightly sweet with some light lemony notes. The flavor is on the bland side, with wheat and some lemony citric notes. Decent. 6/3/6/3/12 = 3.0

Bottle, labeled as "Encore". Pours orange withan off white head. Nice floral citric aroma, orangey almost. The flavor has citric hops on a clean wheaty base. Simple, but well executed and actually pretty delicious. Way better than I was expecting. Maybe itís because I just finished a really malty beer, but the hop profile here just hit me the right way. 8/3/8/4/16 = 3.9

I have a hard time believing that the bottle I had was the same beer I had on draft last year, but alas, Ratebeer never lies, right? Iíll make my rating the bottle rating since thatís what people are more likely to try.
