COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

Bottle from 2013 Winterland variety pack. Cloudy, orange pour with a small white head. Citrus, sweet dough aroma. Grainy, floral flavors mixed with some weak citrus. This really muddles the finish. Watery texture with average carbonation. Not a fan of this combination of styles.

From bottle. Aroma is grassy, pineapple and citrus. Taste is pineapples and citrus. Hoppy aftertaste. Decent Ipa overall.

Tasted as "Encore," 2013 Aroma: Citrus aromas, ripe fruit, but faint. Appearance: Cloudy gold with a white head that dissipates quickly. Taste: Light sweetness with light sourness in finish. Well balanced, but no flavors or tastes forward. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, soft finish. Overall: A bit disappointing. Weak flavors, lots of body with little to show for it. Seems underdeveloped.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a Pint glass. ("3/4 Pint of Ale" as they say on the label.) The label has a freshness date and the abv is listed at 6%. Appearance: The body is very hazy and unfiltered with a golden orange amber colored body. This is topped off with an inch of thick and creamy off white colored head. The head holds on very well and keeps a small cap of foam on top till the last sip. On the way down the glass it leaves cool lace rings behind. Smell: The aroma is sweet and juicy with loads of citrusy, orange zesty hops over sweet biscuity and wheaty maltiness. This is very mouth watering and inviting. Taste/Palate: Following the nose it has good balance of sweet maltiness and citrusy hop bitterness. It finishes with semi-dry wheat notes and plenty of the hop bitterness. The palate is medium bodied with a smooth almost chewy texture. Its carbonation is well balanced. Notes: This is one of the best beers from Magic Hat in some time. I love the balance and bright juicy flavors. I hope this will become a regular in their line up.

Bottle. This is a nice simple wheat ale that has gone a bit wrong. Not the best around.

Pour is a bright olden orange with a creamy white head. Nose has a fair bit of hops, citrusy and orange peel, like cream of wheat note behind. Taste has the same hop profile but a touch of a messy malt backbone. A bit spicy, assertive carbonation, medium body.

Had this as "Magic Hat Encore American Wheat IPA" from the IPA on tour series. 12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cold. Aroma: Strange. Citrusy, lemony hops, but there’s an odd creaminess to it. Not sure how to adequately describe it. Pleasant, though! Appearance: Hazy, practically opaque rust. Off-white head lasts for a bit. Taste: Strong hop bite! Just the subtlest wheat on the end. So lots of hop, not a lot of wheat. I can live with that! Palate: Medium bodied. Long, long finish. Quality stuff. Overall: Good stuff! It’s a shame Magic Hat doesn’t make it regularly, because it’s a fantastic brew.
