COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2011 Magic Hat Encore is a lively, hazy amber ale with a thin, elastic, bobbly head that has excellent retention and lacing. It has a very hoppy aroma with pine and orange thatís almost sweet. Itís medium or medium-light bodied and smooth with a clean, dry finish. It tastes simple, fresh and bitter with lots of hop flavor. There are notes of fresh pine and citrus... maybe tangerine. The biscuity malt provides outstanding balance. It flirts with sweetness. This is a simple and tasty IPA. Great job, Magic Hat! I canít believe this is the same beer that was offered as an Odd Notion last year. I rated it a 2.2 ten months ago. Hereís that review: Magic Hat Odd Notion Spring í10 is a lightly hazy, pale golden ale with a thin white head that dissipates quickly and leaves pretty nice lacing on the glass. It has a funky vegetable aroma with notes of pretzels and black pepper. It has a medium-light body with a gritty feel to it and a very gritty finish. Thereís a little sour twang to it up front thatís a little off-putting. Itís rescued by the green bitterness of the finish. Thereís a doughy note to it. Itís not very pulled together, but tolerable. If I made this at home Iíd be a little disappointed, but Iíd drink it.

rampmaster (642) - Alden, New York, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a Pint glass. ("3/4 Pint of Ale" as they say on the label.) The label has a freshness date and the abv is listed at 6%. Appearance: The body is very hazy and unfiltered with a golden orange amber colored body. This is topped off with an inch of thick and creamy off white colored head. The head holds on very well and keeps a small cap of foam on top till the last sip. On the way down the glass it leaves cool lace rings behind. Smell: The aroma is sweet and juicy with loads of citrusy, orange zesty hops over sweet biscuity and wheaty maltiness. This is very mouth watering and inviting. Taste/Palate: Following the nose it has good balance of sweet maltiness and citrusy hop bitterness. It finishes with semi-dry wheat notes and plenty of the hop bitterness. The palate is medium bodied with a smooth almost chewy texture. Its carbonation is well balanced. Notes: This is one of the best beers from Magic Hat in some time. I love the balance and bright juicy flavors. I hope this will become a regular in their line up.

Came in the winter 2010 winterland 12 pak. Pours like a darker wheat beer, very cloudy but amber in color. Thin, clingy head. Great aroma, lots of citrus and hops like a very hoppy IPA. Tastes more like an india pale than a wheat, delicious and unique. Will buy again.

This was really good. Pours a hazy golden hue into the glass with a white head. Has an unfiltered look to it. Lots of wheat and floral/citrus hop notes on the nose. Palate is a perfect balance of hops and wheat malts. Crisp clean finish, great brew!

This is a pretty good IPA. The wheat is there but mostly in the appearance as it gives it a quite cloudy orange-red hue. The flavor has a decent hop bite but it surprisingly dry in the finish. Overall pretty solid.

The appearance of this beer is a hazy golden yellow with a minimal white head that dissipates quickly, and the aroma is quite hoppy, especially with spruce and floral hops. The beer is not too strong, but the definite bitter taste lasts for a long time on your tongue. It has a medium body with an average carbonation and a slick texture.

Fantastic fruity aroma. Slightly bitter, tangy taste. In a mostly good way. Decent palate. Big fan.

just a very delightful brew in my mind. here we have a wheat brew at least as how it looks and with a kids cereal type malt syrup flavor. sweet and ripe with tastes of orange candy grapefruit and 7 up soda added to a powerful hop presence of pine with a bit of chalk. seems silly but it worked for me. smart sweet tart finish and add pez candy to the mix. demonstrative and happy it is flowery with a bit of spice. thanx magic hat !
