2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
From the winter pack. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of cloves, sweet malt, some caramel, hints of pepper. Tastes of spice and caramel. A weird beer with an identity crisis.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours brown, semi-cloudy, with a small whitish head. Aroma is pleasant, very malty, with a good bit of caramel and wheat, slight alcohol. Flavor is smooth, malty, caramel, chocolate, smoke and spice. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, and chocolate lingers. Pretty good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Frothy head of varying sized bubbles. Roasty and chocolaty aroma with some dark fruit and a hint of smoke. A wheat ale huh. We will see. Color is a very dark brownish orange. Dry and slightly astringent flavor with some dark roasted malts, some tea leaves and a bit of spice. Pretty flavorful. Light alcohol presence. Finishes dry and roasty with some lingering spices. A decent seasonal brew. I would be ashamed to serve this at my house.

12 oz. Bottle courtesy of "Naka. Cloudy Amber color, little head. Nose isnít very discernable, brewingat this time. Seems to be a sharp malt nose. Taste of wheat malt, definately an American wheat, kind of sour. Nice hop punch at the end. No where near overpowering, but seems a bit high for a wheat. A normal hopped up Magic Hat take on a style. Pretty decent overall. Would be an "every so often beer" for me. Drinkable, but not that drinkable.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Beautiful unfiltered swirling dark maroon hazy beer appearance from the gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is rather nutty and dark beer inviting. Odd notion under the cap. Creamy foam with a few bigger bubbles. Has many of the attributes of an alt. Some hop or malt bitterness is apparent on the palate, but it is well controlled. Iím surprized there are not more ratings than this, must be new. Some carbonation is present. Dark beer flavors with little bitterness. Reminds me a bit of a 3 year old Augustiner Iron City dark I had a little while ago. Except for that medium mild bitter hop bite, this is rather well mannered. Finish is some lingering bittter hops that, IMHO, can be done away with.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a cloudy dark brown with a reddish tint. Spicy aroma, canít quite put my finger on the exact spice, kind of like trying to figure why someone would run through an automated car wash naked to cleanse thyself.
The flavor, smooth but smoky, (SMOKEY! Whatcha doing over there?) with a hint of the stronger alc content.
I say this a lot in my reviews (generally the ales), but this beerís taste becomes more complex as it gets closer to room temp. The malts take over. Take it out of fridge, let it warm for about 20 min before uncapping. (Then read the inside of the cap).
A couple of these on a winter evening and you are set. The carbonation is good. Banana & clove are the spices. It becomes more apparent in the later stages of the beer. Recommended.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught. This pours a dark, cloudy amber brown with slight ivory head. The aroma is pretty distinctive banana and clove, with a little bit of alcohol and some chocolate and muffin notes. The flavor has hints of banana and sweet chocolate, then some prickly, woody spice. The finish is yeasty. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mild coffee aroma with hints of yeast. Amber color with a small tan head. Strong wheat start with a tangy bitter finish. Thicker palate than most Magic Hats.
