3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 joebudzjoe (620) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 3, 2010
Bottle. One of the better concoctions Magic Hat has introduced in a while. The ginger flavor is pleasant, along with notes of peach and hops. Flavors are present but not too strong. Like most Magic Hats, it’s a bit watery, but this beer has a nice sharp aftertaste due to the ginger. Easy to put down.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GMUcrew7 (572) - Mason, Ohio, USA - JUL 2, 2010
Slightly cloudy golden pour with a peach hue, small white head. Aroma is pretty good but it doesn’t really fit the style, smells more like a lightly spiced wheat, don’t really get much ginger either. The carbonation gives it a nice crisp bite, nice sweet fruity aftertaste, also get a little of the ginger there as well. Not exactly my cup of tea, but it is somewhat refreshing on a hot day like this.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Drake (6488) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - JUN 30, 2010
12 ounce bottle from the summer sampler. Rated 5/27/10. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium white creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of candied ginger primarily with sweet, bready malts and a very faintly hoppy finish. The taste is pale malts, grass, ginger, candied ginger and faint hops in the finish. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle: Drunk it out of a bottle, decent flavor, ginger was good, but not as pungent as I had hoped, more like a pie flavored ginger. Malty, sweet, and enjoyable.

I don’t like ginger beers but i wanted to try this because i thought maybe it would have a little ginger and more beer, it didn’t. Terrible.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bconger (135) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - JUN 21, 2010
Bottle. Hazy light golden pour with a thick, off-white head. Aromas of light malt, ginger, and lemon predominate. The same three characteristics hit the tongue, but the lemon quickly dissipates and gives way to a bready but light malt. The ginger sticks around through the whole ordeal. Fun summer beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Butters (3320) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 21, 2010
On draft at CapAle Innsbrook. Pours a clear golden yellow with minimal ring of whitish head. Nose is pleasantly clean and ginger and citrus and a little spiciness. Flavor is a little dusty, but still bright and again, ginger. I guess this could be a little refreshing on a hot day. But I’m not a big fan of ginger. Still, not a bad offering.

Lovely pale gold color with a mass of rock snow-white head. Well carbonated and lovely in my new style Sam adams glass. A subtle ginger aroma and flavor. Much stronger on the flavor. the hops balance out the ginger well.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 sinkhole (261) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 20, 2010
Bottle. Part of the Magic Hat Summer 2010 Seasonal Variety Pack. Pours light gold with a thick white head. Aromas of sweet malts, floral hops and ginger. Tastes is similar with the subtle malt sweetness behind a tangy ginger kick. Overall an excellent craft beer, it seems destin to become a patio staple this summer.
