2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pouring this now. Bottle that Matt capone generously pulled from a 12 pack during an amazingly busy event today. The pour is medium urine yellow with 3-fingers of frothy white head and clingy above average lacing. The nose is Saaz hoppy, pale malty, with some fruity, peppery notes. The taste is crisp, a bit sweet, with Saaz hops, pale malt, honey, apricotty fruit, and some grainy and lemongrassy notes. Medium palate. As it warms, it gets a bit bitter and more hoppy.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
not half bad! and i dont even like lagers. flavor cut through everything my mouth had predisposed towards negativity towards this brewery, the style and more. and believe you me, there is plenty of animosity there. grassy and earthy, this isnt half bad. holds little interest for me personally but seems to be balanced to some extent, maybe magic hat should just give up on ales altogether.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
after reading the commercial description i immediately readied myself for an extremely boring, tasteless, untruthful, crooked rating. pours a clear pale orange under a medium sized creamy white head. not much aroma except and light floral hoppiness. flavor is light with some tangy hops. wickedly bitter aftertaste. dry. very carbonated, light palate.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours a clear yellow-orange with little head. Sweet, soapy aroma. The flavor is unpleasant; typical pilsener flavors, but soapy and a bit rotten tasting. Pilseners aren’t really my thing in the first place, but this one is just bad. If it has a saving grace, it’s mouthfeel and drinkability.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Darker than I expected. Straw colored. Grassy aroma, clean taste, dry, bitter finish. Really a good pils, at least in my experience.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 08’. Straw gold pour with bitterness in the nose. Flavor is hoppy-well done though and thirst quenching. The body is slightly oily for the style. Speaking of style as many have pointed out-bottle says lager on here it says pilsner. I vote pilsner. And on that it shall be judged.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Poured a clear golden body with thin head. Aroma is light and crisp hops. Flavor is light floral hops, grainy and a slightly syrupy. Smooth and drinkable but very forgetable and boring.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This was certainly a pilsner. I was tricked into thinking I was pouring a lager but it was clear that it was a pilsner on pour. It is a bright yellow with a nice head and good carbonation. It was a good looking pilsner. It has a heavy malt aroma. It tastes hopper then I would have thought from the aroma. I think when some people rank on here they are not looking at style. This was a pretty good pilsner. Not great but pretty darn good. A well balanced pilsner.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
I dont understand why this beer exists. The label claims to provoke political discussion, but I think it mostly provokes discussion on how pointless beers like this are. Year, it’s crisp, midly fruity and otherwise unoffensive. But who cares. It’s boring and nothing special.

[From the Participation variety 12-pack, Welcome to Chicago Magic Hat, glad to see you here in Bottles] I entered the beer as a lager, but clearly its a Pilsner once I opened the bottle... Nice rich malty/bready aroma with fantastic noble hops. Pours a darker golden, hazy, with a nice frothy off-white head. First taste is super bitter and quite metallic tangy. Tons of hops in this Pilsner. Lightly sweet malt base with not much of the breadiness that is in the aroma. Nice crisp medium bodied beer. Vote damn it! This is actually quite good and the closest thing I’ve had to Victory Prima Pils.
