vyvvy (1582), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA May 1, 2008 Pours deep bronze with a small tan head. The aroma has dry toffee and toasted malt. Far fuller aroma than you’d expect for a mild. Medium body that’s a bit on the thin side with sharp unobtrusive carbonation. The flavor starts off with caramel, dry toffee and dark lightly toasted malt. The finish has some hops to balance things out, but they don’t come out too prominently. This is a very nice mild with flavors bigger than you’d expect. Too bad I can’t get this back home. So it goes, at least I had a fine pint of it.
JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 On tap at Max’s in B-more. Hazy gold and disappearing white head. Faint, tangy, cidery nose, lemon-citrus notes. Wheaty-sour, cidery flavor with some citric, lime-peel bitterness. Off-putting reminders of tequila. Refreshing though. jrmac (116), USA Jul 19, 2008 Dark amber pour with just a touch of head. Taste like watered down stout or something. Very watered down. Anyway I have yet to be impressed by any of this company’s offerings Palidor19 (1207), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2008 wasn’t too crazy about this one. Its taste bit tart. looked nice, tasted clean too. but its more of a passer. Hawksfan17 (589), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 17, 2008 This amber brown pour has a nice frothy off white head. It smells like caramel malt and a little bit of toast. It is light and sweet in flavor. It is nice and smooth. jezmez68 (268), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Jul 16, 2008 From the Summer sampler pack that I picked up across the Indiana border in New Buffalo, Michigan. Bottle pours a black with a nice little head that fades in about 2 minutes. Smells of chocolate. Old Black Joe’s still picking cotton. Nice aroma. Initial taste is nice, but washes away like filthy water. A beer full of chicanery. I dig it.
