COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

Very interesting beer. Aroma and flavor is of fresh herbs, citrus, lemongrass. No bitterness. Herbal aroma and flavor strengthens as beer warms up. Very good for summer.

Bottle. Pours gold. Nose and taste of flaked oat, dandelion, light malt and even lighter lacto sourness. Light body.

Aroma is malts, spices and a mild hint of sourness/tartness. The flavor is malts, lemons, mild spiciness and a mildly sour finish.

I liked this beer. Ill give it a bump down for the appearance as everyone else has but it has a nice crisp and sweet flavor that it is going for. Nice floral tastes hit the palate nicely and dissipate in the finish. No ’Magic Hat’ taste to this one. Better than what i rated it if you like a sweet, summery, session beer.

No freshness information.

A: Boy this is an ugly ugly beer. The body resembles the color of an old dirty golden chain with heaps of particles in the opaque body. The only redeeming quality is the towering plateau of an off-white head, but even with a gentle pour it was a pain to manage.

S: This reminds me of Spring, flowers and a slightly sweet citrus make up the nose with a faint tart aroma hidden. Rather faint strength though.

T: This is interesting, rather sweet with a mild tart flavor. I’m picking up a honey sweetness up front with a mid-taste of flowers, lemons and oranges, the finish gets a bit tart. I’m not a huge fan, but it’s not bad.

M: Medium bodied with fresh snappy carbonation.

O: I feel like Magic Hat did a good job capturing the Spring feeling in this beer. I wouldn’t buy this again, but good on them for trying.

Bottle. Hazy golden with white dissipating head. Smells like corn, honey, biscotti, and flowers. Tastes sweet with a faint bitter ending. Light bodied and light bitter finish. Reminds me of pilsener.

Bottled. Poured medium golden with a lot of sediment suspended in there.. did not look good. The aroma picked up slightly sour floral and grassy notes, with some honey backing.. sweet and quite pleasant. The flavor found sweet honey, rolled oats, and a touch of bready malt at the core.. lightly sour floral and lesser orangey notes around.. finished with good balance between sweet malts and tangy botanicals. Lighter-bodied with more filling carbonation on the palate.. very smooth across the middle.. I thought the dandelions worked well in here.

Bottle cap say: "the planet has needs for your deeds." Pours a highly carbonated light caramel. Aromas of dry hops, malty grain, slight hints of grass, and a lightly sweet hint of toffee. Flavors of light grass, light sweet grain, and slight hay. Lightly sweet, crisp, mostly clean, and light in flavors. Nothing really stands out, but fun to try different mixes in the brews. The danelion actually can be noticed by thinking really hard and reminding oneself, "oh yeah, this flavor is the petals." yum? ......
