Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

This is dry, bitter and rather astringent blond ale. My guess is the dandelion petals add the astringency. I actually like this sort of thing but Iíd imagine some folks will think itís like sucking on a tea bag. To me, that dry feeling on the tongue just begs for another sip and that is a quality I think of rather highly in a beer.

Bottle. Nose is somewhat dry but dank, lightly woody and fruity/tang notes. Flashes of bright citrus. Pours yellow-golden with strong carbonation and a soapy white head. Taste is relatively dry, light bitterness with a strong wooden component, resolves into a fizzy but beautiful bready character. Very light tang, light (and faintly astringent) herbal and grassy touches. Faint grain, good clean pale malt right up the middle, some lemony citrus, light mineral. Light-medium body crisp and supremely refreshing! Clean with great balance, Iím pleasantly surprised.

Appearance: the beer pours with a large white head, it takes a little while to pour this beer down, the beer is gold in color with a slight haze to it Aroma: yeast, fruity, flowers, citrus, smells pretty good, could be a little stronger if anything Taste: lightly toasted clear malt, hints of industrial lager are there, kind of bland, some flowers Palate: leaves mouth very dry, light mouthfeel, very strong carbonation, minimal aftertaste Overall: pretty easy drinking, just has faint notes of industrial lager that don't sit well with me, the aroma is nice though and I bet it would be even better on a hot day ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours a straw yellow color with a small fizzy head. Aroma is on the mild side, with some grass and some light bready notes. The taste gives off a big sweetness in the beginning that fades into a gentle bitter finish. Light crisp and high carbonation.

I started drinking this on its own and then used it as an antidote to a batch of my neighborís homemade salsa. Lovely appearance thanks to the haziness on the yellow, orange-tinted body. Grassy, vegetal, slightly citric aroma (grapefruit if anything). Flavor seemed a bit light and lacking a sustained finish. Some paper mulch, and more of a German style of hopping than the Belgian saison I was hoping to find. Progressively more disappointing as I drank it. Who really thinks of dandelions as an appealing flavor concept anyway? Bottle.

Golden honey color with a ton of sediment. Smells of malty hops.. balanced. Taste is balanced as well, very nicely. Smooth, fairly neutral.
