Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

Bottle. Hazy golden with white dissipating head. Smells like corn, honey, biscotti, and flowers. Tastes sweet with a faint bitter ending. Light bodied and light bitter finish. Reminds me of pilsener.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange copper with large frothy off white head. The aroma is a strong dandelion and honey. Thin mouth with strong floral flavor and honey, light citrus, decent.

Rated on 03-14-2013. This bottled beer has a large foamy white head that mostly diminishes, hazy pale yellow body, slow rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is citrus, floral, spicy and malt. The flavor is citrus, herbal, spicy, and malt. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, the flavor of this beer is not my thing and it is a beer that I will not drink again.

Very mild ale. No hops. No malt. Pleasant, inoffensive flavor. Floral aroma.

When I was a kid, the neighborhood Lithuanians would pick dandelions in Marquette Park and make a wine from them. As an older kid, I tried it... and liked it. Still do.
This beer, ostensibly brewed with dandelions, lacks character. Oh, it looks dandy (and I’m not lyin’), a hazy pale yellow body toppede by a creamy head, but it fizzles out after that. The aroma is faint and floral, but I couldn’t swear that the scents were those of the ubiquitious weed that filled the family lawn every year. The flavor is mild, quietly sweet white bread with a touch of grassy/floral bitterness. The rating is middling, reflecting memories more than appreciation.

From backlog. Bottle. Pours a clear light yellow color with almost no head. Aroma is floral, pale malt, and some skunkiness. Taste is flowers and sour fruit. Seems stale. Not good stuff at all.

Transfer from BA review on 5-16-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance - Served a light golden orange colored brew with a one finger fizzy head. The head has a lighter level of retention, fading to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is a bit grainy and musty with some notes of a bready like smell. Mixed with these aromas are floral and grassy smell (dandelion?)l as well as a bit of light fruit aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a more crisp bready taste with a decent level of graininess. As the taste advances a floral and grassy flavor comes to the tongue more toward the middle with them growing stronger to the end of the taste. Along with this an almost hay-like flavor comes to the tongue combining with the rest to leave an odd wild field taste with grass, hay and grain. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather crisp with a carbonation level that is on the medium to slightly higher side. It is nice for the style and makes for a nice crisp feel on the tongue. Overall – Nothing all that fantastic here. A little unbalanced with too many grassy and herbal flavors and not enough other flavors to mellow them out.

Bottle to pint glass. Pour is straw yellow and a bit cloudy. Aroma is grassy, and flowery, and a bit like lemon skins. Taste is mostly lager like with some nice citrus and floral notes to it. It is a bit thin and watery though. Finish has a good amount of carbonation but leaves a grassy linger. Overall not bad. Decent on a hot day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
