COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

Bottle. Pours with a massive white head and a clear yellow hued body. Good lace. Aromas are biscuity, bready and floral malt with notes of honey, light acidity, flowery, lightly minty and earthy hops. Mild esters, lemon. Flavors are very herbal and tea like. Bready malts, marmalade, chamomile. Low acidity, cornbread. Medium low bitterness. Slightly chalky feeling. Soft carbonation. Minty hop. Very tea like overall.

3/6/13. 12oz bottle from 5 Points. Hazy golden pour with a small khaki head that fades but laces a bit. Very mild aroma with soft wheat, mineral water, and a touch of herbal notes. Light citrus wheat flavor with barely a touch of acid and herbal. Is this supposed to be Pissenlit for the sheep or something? Marketing. Baaaa. Baaaaaaaaa. Garbage.

Bottled. Poured medium golden with a lot of sediment suspended in there.. did not look good. The aroma picked up slightly sour floral and grassy notes, with some honey backing.. sweet and quite pleasant. The flavor found sweet honey, rolled oats, and a touch of bready malt at the core.. lightly sour floral and lesser orangey notes around.. finished with good balance between sweet malts and tangy botanicals. Lighter-bodied with more filling carbonation on the palate.. very smooth across the middle.. I thought the dandelions worked well in here.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, wort), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a note of butter. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Raw malt and diacetyl in the nose, thin and watery in the mouth with a dirty aftertaste...what more could you want? Embarrassing.

Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - Killearn - 12 oz bottle. Light medium gold pour with a thin but persistent snow white head. Aroma has a spicy tint to it with some saffron and some light floral notes. Crisp flavor with some grassy notes, a slight lemony citrus bitter undertone, a hint of spice. Refreshing crisp mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised.

At the DC Craft Beer Festival. Poured a hazy dull golden color with an off-white head. Very light floral notes. Aroma was light crisp malts. Some malt, light herbal hops. Inoffensive. meh. mostly unremarkable.

Clear light golden with a slight chill haze, under an unstable rocky white head. Aroma is floral hoppy but not too strong..definitely smells like a 4.5% beer, with quiet dandelion notes and a little pale ale malt body. Flavor is nice and crisp with a surprising amount of bitterness (good thing), coming with more of that pale malt backbone and crisp floral and grassy hops. Honestly if it weren’t for the slight bit of dandelion on the nose, I would confuse this for a Sierra Nevada Pale. Drinkable body with a low-abv-ipa bitterness throughout.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6643) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy bright golden color with lots of tiny floaters and a medium sized foamy orange white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet, tangy and a bit floral with notes of honey and chamomile. The flavor was way too dry, bitter and acidic with light perfume and citrus. Medium length bitter and dry finish with lingering citrus and perfume. Light body. Eh. The aroma had promise but the flavor really failed to deliver.
