Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

Bottle. Murky gold with a short, sturdy, foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and lightly hopped with soft flowery notes. Taste is slightly bitter with more hop notes, flowers, toasted grains, and sweet malt. notes. Light lemony zest and tart fruit as well. Body is light-medium with a strong, effervescent carbonation. Ends with more lemony zest tart fruit, bitter hops, flowers, malt notes and grains.

Yellow, almost but not quite clear, fizzy white head. Smells grainy, grassy, with a whiff of corn. Flavor is cereal, a bit grassy, and an odd bitterness that seems familiar but I canít quite place it. Dry, slightly woody finish.

This poured a clear yellow colorw ith a white head. Aroma was of light mint, grain, and not much else. Didn;t really taste the dandellion, at least i dont think, mainly just grainy plain bland golden ale.

Yellow pour with foamy white head. Aroma is light sour and skunk. Light dry malt and a light sour malt finish. Not much bitter. Light bodied and fizzy. Flavor is not skunky so maybe itís my nose,

When I was a kid, the neighborhood Lithuanians would pick dandelions in Marquette Park and make a wine from them. As an older kid, I tried it... and liked it. Still do.
This beer, ostensibly brewed with dandelions, lacks character. Oh, it looks dandy (and Iím not lyiní), a hazy pale yellow body toppede by a creamy head, but it fizzles out after that. The aroma is faint and floral, but I couldnít swear that the scents were those of the ubiquitious weed that filled the family lawn every year. The flavor is mild, quietly sweet white bread with a touch of grassy/floral bitterness. The rating is middling, reflecting memories more than appreciation.

Mostly clear gold, with a thick, frothy, well-sustained lace - nose of clean, pale maltiness, light tartness, subtle herbal notes, and the faintest hint of the dandelion - light bodied - nice, soft, frothy carbonation in the mouth - very clean, with no obvious flaws - lightly tart/acidic and floral up front - lightly bitter middle, with the dandelion mildly evident - mild sweetness pops up momentarily before a crisp, lightly tart, quenching finish - quite refreshing, and a nice surprise from Magic Hat.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold body with a fizzy white head that had pretty good retention for a Magic Hat beer. The nose is light, fruity, and floral with a scent that does actually remind me of dandelion wine actually. The flavor is a bit overly thin and weak though, actually pretty downright watery. Thereís a slight floral hoppiness and a minimal bitterness on the back end, along with a light perfume like quality. Thin bodied and very fizzy with a vegetal finish. Canít say too many good things about this one.

12oz bottle from Drum Hill Liquor, Chelmsford, NH. A cloudy pale amber pour with a ring of white head; sweet aroma; grainy body with a slight sourness thatís quite refreshing. I was a bit uncertain about this when I saw the ingredients, but itís actually a good summer refresher.

Bottle. Nose is somewhat dry but dank, lightly woody and fruity/tang notes. Flashes of bright citrus. Pours yellow-golden with strong carbonation and a soapy white head. Taste is relatively dry, light bitterness with a strong wooden component, resolves into a fizzy but beautiful bready character. Very light tang, light (and faintly astringent) herbal and grassy touches. Faint grain, good clean pale malt right up the middle, some lemony citrus, light mineral. Light-medium body crisp and supremely refreshing! Clean with great balance, Iím pleasantly surprised.

Pours nearly clear gold with a puffy white head. Scent is floral.....it truly does showcase the dandelion. Taste is na odd, grassy, floral, herbal, malty......dullness. ....strange bittering. Quite....unusual.
