COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stop and smell the petals. Pistil is a summer beer unlike any other, brewed with a combination of dandelion petals, Pale and Acidulated malts, flaked oats, and Apollo and Northern Brewer hops that results in a one-of-a-kind beer with a slightly sour acidity and a smooth malt body. Perfect for taking down deep thirst.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, dandelion, light hops, grain, and a hint of hopcitrus. Poured yellow in color with a small, white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small, medium, and large-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, grain, light hops, cereal, and slight florals. Light to medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Slightly bitter, malt, grain, cereal, floral finish.

smells like a noble hop green bottle lager. look is interesting. has lots of floaties in there. taste initially is a little bitter, but yes it is that dandelion kind of bitter. Yes, a little interesting and but not quite as unique as I thought it would be. Not sure if there is any sourness in there as stated in the descriptions.

This is a light beer in color and appearance. It has some resemblance to a pilsner type beer. I would select this beer again. It’s a great first super bowl beer.

New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is flowers, but not at their prime... more like the stems and leaves than the aromatic parts. Taste is like a mediocre blonde ale with some elements that I suppose are, in part, thanks to the flowers. Lightly hopped. Bready. This was worse than I thought it would be.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a pale gold colored body that leaves a one finger white head that dies down to a paper thin film within twenty seconds. Barely any lacing coats the sides of the glass and the body is too hazy for any carbonation to be seen rising. The smell had some grainy and cereal malts combined with some spicy hops. After the beer warms a bit, some sage and thyme came out. The taste had a graininess/cereal maltiness coming back pretty strong. The palate sat about a light to medium with a dry finish, decently balanced. Overall, ok, not bad, would I have this again?, hmmm... probably only on tap.

12oz bottle poured into Newcastle pint glass. The smell of lager yeast and slight grass with strong notes of malt. A smoky almost sulphuric hint. It plus a nice golden hazy color with a frothy white head. Lots of lacing and a small ring of bubbles exists through the whole drink. Flavored of pilsner malts and lager yeast dominate. I get no acidity till the very end and its so diluted it almost doesn’t exist, not enough flavor or complexity for a beer of this "style". I was really hoping for more flavor besides the malt and yeast. The body is light with a bit of an acidic burn near the finish but the actual finish is watery and dry enough to match the acidity it feels they want. It doesn’t leave you longing for another sip and that’s just another misstep I feel in the making of this beer. I rarely drink magic hat and this is why, subpar homies subpar. This is inspiration to actually brew a dandelion ale that actually kicks ass and I will.

Highly carbonated in both smell and taste, lemon, light like water, less smooth, right texture, likely not drink this again

March 24, 2014. Bottle from summer sampler 12 pack. Pours hazy, bright piss yellow with a medium, frothy, brilliant white head and good lacing. Aroma is like perfume. Light citrus, floral, earthy and spicy wheat malt with hint of hops. Flavor is lightly tart with floral hops, faint hop bitterness, light crisp pale malt with an earthy character and a dry finish. Light body, medium carbonation, and light astringency. Exactly what I expected.
