The smell is very hoppy, I was quite taken away by the strong hop aroma to at first. Sweet smelling, grassy or piny even. A small hint of malt and caramel.
The taste is very hoppy. The first flavor to come onto your taste buds. Has a piny overtone, a nice amount of spice flavor.
A good beer from start to finish. The nice hop flavor stays through the beer. Good if your in the mood for a hoppy flavored beer.

Pours a dark, slightly hazy amber color with a decent size off white head. Aromas mostly of sharp floral and resinous hops. Flavor shows more balance, with the pine and floral hop character offset by a nice roasty malt backbone. Solid and even bitterness throughout. A bit on the heavy side but even on the palate, with a decent finish that leaves some of that bitterness on the back end of the palate.
A pretty impressive offering from Magic Hat. rugbydude05 (287), Kew Gardens, New York, USA

Aroma is very impressive with strong hops/floral scent mixed with a little maltiness and sweetness. Flavor is moderately bitter. Palate is average, body not as full as expected. Overall very good beer. Nubtail (14), , Ohio, USA

Has a sweet citrusy, hoppy aroma. More bitter than sweet taste but hoppy. Thin and leaves slight bitter aftertaste. Overall a pretty good beer. amp811 (38), Charleston, South Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 17, 2009 I’m never sure how to describe Roxy Rolles. I wouldn’t say it’s quite as heavy as most ambers. I don’t seek this one out, but it’s no poor addition to the variety packs. I feel very "meh" about this beer. Just not very memorable. jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours amber copper with a big frothy white head. Smells of citrus, spruce, and bread. Tastes of multi-grain crackers, citrus, caramel, and grass. Heavy bitterness, odd sweetness, semi-balanced, nice complexity. Not bad.
