jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Mar 9, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours amber copper with a big frothy white head. Smells of citrus, spruce, and bread. Tastes of multi-grain crackers, citrus, caramel, and grass. Heavy bitterness, odd sweetness, semi-balanced, nice complexity. Not bad. ben4321 (960), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 8, 2009 Updated: Mar 9, 2009December ’08
Overall Impression:
Not too bad, especially from the people that brought you the micro beer-miller lite (#9). Decently flavored and a decent balance to it. rampmaster (316), Alden, New York, USA Mar 8, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a Brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a deep amber colored body with some visible carbonation and very good clarity. On top sits a modest light tan head that hangs on well and makes some nice spotty lace on the glass.
Smell: The aroma has good strong pine and citrus hops with notes of grapefruit and lemon.
Taste/Mouth feel: It has a solid, rich malty base with very solid and pleasant citrus hop notes throughout. The hop bitterness builds towards the finish and lingers a bit before it slowly fades off the tongue. It has a solid medium to full body with a smooth yet lively texture and nice carbonation.
Notes: Overall it is a very solid brew and quite enjoyable.
curly (549), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Mar 3, 2009 Bottle pours slightly hazy dark amber with a thick beige head. Has a sweet citrus grapefruit, pineapple aroma. More bitter than sweet taste but hoppy. Thin and leaves slight metallic taste. Overall a pretty good beer. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Feb 28, 2009 Pours a fairly clear red with a large head that’s touched with amber. A slight corny smell under the caramel. Easy drinking but not as hoppy as the label suggests. Gabler (86), , New York, USA Feb 25, 2009 Updated: Feb 26, 2009The best beer I’ve had from MH in a long time. This beer pours a nice looking cloudy reddish orange. The aroma is to die for, almost roasty hops with some serious pine notes. Body is medium and the bite is immediately bitter, lovely. Finish is fast and dry. A bitter beer man’s winter dream... actually, I can drink this strange looking woman anytime. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Feb 18, 2009 Bottle best by Apr 09. Poured a red brown with a creamy off-white head that settles but renews with a swirl of the glass. Aromas of toasted malts, coffee, and a decent hop background. Nice flavor of toasted malts and pine. Medium body and a malt and pine aftertaste. Nice!
