Bold aroma for an amber, with fruity peach and spicy peppery hops. Taste is solidly bitter with citrusy, pine, and peppery hops. Solid caramel malt backbone. I really like this. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2008 The pour is deep red, with a med off white head. The aroma is of sweet hops and citrus. The initial tasting is marred by excessive carbonation. However, after getting past that, the flavor is strong hops, with a good bitter character. The body is lighter than other Christmas/winter ambers I have had. The finish is slow and lingering, leaving an aftertaste much like the regular flavor. And enjoyable brew. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Bottle in trade from ROBORB. Thanks man. Pours a reddish orange hazy color with a short to medium lived beige head. Smell is rye like zesty malts with a spicy, fresh earthiness to the hops. Taste is a dull rye and caramel like sweetness with earthy dry, hoppiness. Some grapefruit like flavor too. Moderately smooth with a light lingering bitterness. Not really an amber, but still nice. Medium bodied with normal carbonation a level. Pretty solid beer overall. branspra (217), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a white, very frothy head. Lacing is excellent. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit, and a bit of spruce. Creamy texture, finishes with a slick feel and moderate carbonation. Taste revolves around hops and a bitter finish. While a solid IPA, not what I would consider a great winter beer. However, I will be drinking more of it. MrBunn (1525), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep amber with just a hint of a haze to it and a big and fluffy beige head. A mixture of grapefruit, pine and sweet malt greets the nose, and flavor is very heavy on the pine and grapefruit hops, but lacks enough malt body to make things go together smoothly. The hops presence is remarkable, however... not too bitter, not too washed out, its just that the Roxy comes across more as a hops tea than a beer. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Amber pour with decent sized head. Mild citrus aroma, malty sweet flavor, so so aftertaste. Average for an amber. basewars (145), Albany, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown-amber with two finger head. Aroma is floral - lots of grapefruit. There a bit of malty sweetness in there as well. Minimal lacing. On the tongue, this is fairly sweet. The hops show in the finish. ROGUE (652), Newark, Delaware, USA
