| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2008 bottle - Pours dark amber with a one finger white head. It has an aroma of citrus accented hops and a little caramel malt. The flavor is definitely led by the hops with a bitterness much more akin to a pale ale than most amber ales. It’s medium bodied and finishes with some lingering hops bitterness. Pretty good. hopslovin (180), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Dark amber pour with foamy off-white head. Citrus, pine, grass, and a lot of hops on the nose. Smells great. Bitterness, piney resin on the front, and malt following in in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Very nice. Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Served cold from a tap at the brewery in Burlington. A nice reddish/amber color with a large, quickly-dissipating head. Nose is hops and maybe some sweetness buried beneath it. The flavor was crisp and clean, somewhat herbal with a slightly bitter finish. Panzuriel (993), Westerville, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Pours a hazy copper brown with a thick head of big tan bubbles. Nose is hoppy and a bit of caramel. Taste is clean and nice bitters with hops at the end. The hop presence is not too overpowering. Nice cold weather warmer. Drew (2408), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 27, 2008 This one was in the Spring ’08 box. This is a nice average amber ale, with a liitle extra hop included. Red bodied, short tan head. Aroma is a nice sweetness, but not strong. finished with a caramel sweetness then dry. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 25, 2008 About a 1 inch head that recedes slowly and leaves a thick sticky sheet of lacing. Super hoppy aroma with plenty of spruce, malts and a bit of roasted grains. Color is a bright ruby brown. Lots of roastynes and hops in the flavor again. Dry and chalky palate with lots of roasted grains, burnt biscuits, and spruce hops again. Not the greatest balance. Very dry. Finishes dry and bitter with some lingering spruce. So so. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 20, 2008 This strange brew pours a hazy dark amber, which is not all that pleasant looking. The head lathers well, but not to extremes and dissipates in a minute or three, leaving a mild foam. In the nose, ample malt and hops, both in fine balance. A little alcoholic smelling, but this is a plus for this beer; it compliments the citrus scents. In the mouth, very spicy and thick with great amounts of hops and well-balanced by ample malt. The overall bitter finish is a good way to cleanse the palate for the next gulp. Unique in taste. A very nice winter beer!
