I did think that it does have a funny aroma.. over all though it is a good beer. Brewer101 (163), New Jersey, USA

It just gave too much to the palate and difficult to enjoy. Just not a good magic hat for me. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 26, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Bottle is notched best before April 2008. The beer pours a a dark amber color with a thin light tan head. Aroma is hoppy and a little bit of citrus. Taste is strong with hops and aftertaste is all about the hops as well. This might as well be an IPA. Not bad though. Nephilium (548), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Nice aroma of pine and citrus, pours a clear red, with a quickly fading off-white head. Decent bitter taste, hints of spice and vanilla. Overall, probably the best Magic Hat beer I’ve had. MagooinPA (99), Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours like a well made homebrew with chill haze and all. Nice rocky head with an unexpected deep amber color. Magic Hat gives you little to go by when you look at the names and descriptions on the bottle. They have nothing that fits a "category." When I went to smell what was in my glass, I almost fell over from the fresh hop aroma. It was huge and unexpected. This almost has that DFH continually hopped nose. Hops, some hops, some more hops and it is all so wonderful. I make beer and the nose of the dry hop in this brew is awesome and takes me back a few short months ago when I could buy any type of quality fresh hops I wanted to throw in my experiment of a homebrew. This almost nostalgic (sorry to pour it on like this but unless you’ve looked for hops to brew with in the last week or 8, you’ll understand.) dry hop aroma is as satisfying as watching my EAGLES beat the Cowboys. I will buy this by the case, tomorrow. MH is under $30 here too. This brew is a bargain and I am certain it will be a great session beer on Super Bowl Sunday. This is a well balanced APA that has enough malt backbone to stand up to the hop bomb that it is. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Pours amber orange with a thin tan head. The nose is sweet and malty and overall pretty damn tasty amber. If this is Magic Hat’s answer to Fat Tire, well done this is so much better than that crappy brew.
