| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2007 From a bottle poured a dark amber/brown with lots of head. Very rich flavor of malt with a hint of hops. Good solid finish. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2007 Pours a deep amber bordering on brown with an offwhite almost fluffly head. Decent lacing is evident during the entire drink. The aroma is floral and citrus hops. The first sip is floral and citrus hops, which are supplemented nicely by malts to give a bit of a tone down on the heavy hops. Somewhat light on the mouth and a bit bubbly. The finish is a good blend dryness with the hoppy flavors that linger. Overall it is a very decent (dark) amber ale. Going to try and find this again for a few hop head friends to try.

it is because of its ’amber ale’ guidelines...
Dont like the hops, prefer more citric , dont like the yeast reminds me of the Gearys yeast forget its name
do like the caramel maltyness...

pour a deep amber with very slight orange hues. head is yellow/off-white and pillowy. Showed decent, short-lived white lacing.
Aromas of orange peel and floral/herbal notes of hops, maybe something almost pine tree-esque. Very subtlle cat pee in the background, but not enough to fault the odor.
Flavor began with a bit of malt/yeast up front, followed by some floral notes and bitterness from the hops. Perfume/rubbing alcohol taste ruined the hops for me, though. Medium+, round mouthfeel leading to a medium length finish with trailing bitterness and slight bread notes.
pleasant overall, but certain notes hit my palate the wrong way. Bitterness wasn’t balanced by anything for me, I suppose. kwoeltje (1315), Manchester, Missouri, USA

Grassy/floral hops in the aroma. Flavor is a bit spicy up front, but a solid hop finish with a complicated malt background. rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Spectacular aroma, lots of piney hops upfront, with a strange subtle sweetness. Almost more of a malty pale ale then an amber. The hop flavor works well with the malt body, could be a little more substantial on the pallete DannyP (29), Connecticut, USA

Pours dark, orangey amber with a small slightly colored head. A wonderful citrusy hoppy aroma and bite is what I like. Overall where it lacks is in the amber malt itself. Definitely drinkable, would buy again.
