Oct 9, 2007 on tap at the brewery tasting room. Light amber in color with a small off white head. Great fresh citrus hop aroma- grapefruit. Taste is fresh citrus, with a good malt backbone. Bitterness is moderate throughout. The best magic hat session ale I’ve had.

Sep 30, 2007 Attractive rich amber pour with a robust head. The nose is mildly sweet caramel malt and light floral hops. The flavor is sweet caramel and very light floral bitterness, but with those comes a persistent moldy aftertaste and a touch of chalkiness in mouthfeel. Not pleasant.

Sep 4, 2007 12oz bottle thanks to Holdenn for this one. Red amber color with fluffy medium beige head. Fruity and sweet malt aroma. Very sweet , grainy, red fruit and citrus fllavor with mild pine. Medium body alittle chalky and little carb. Overall pretty fruity, not bad.

Aug 8, 2007 I thought there was more alcohol given the amber hoppy taste and malty quotient. I think this might be my favorite Magic Hat so far except that the flavors seemed to dissipate quickly in the name of balance.

Jul 19, 2007 Am I chewing a resin bag? Hops mellow out a bit after the beer breathes for a little while but just a wierd, biting hop flavor that does not linger at all. No residual oils. Only lasting flavor is a mild malt bittersweetness. Poured a red-stained brown in color with a slight head that evaporated to a thinner veneer. Medium body that thins out the deeper into the glass I find myself. The shiny hop flavor was a bit too much and not true to the style. Novel take but not sold on this beer.

Jul 6, 2007 Updated: Sep 4, 200712 oz bottle from a strange liquor store in Middleton, CT. Pours a carmel brown color with a beige head. Nose is aged. This must have been sitting around for a while. Still I continue. Carmelized nose citrus comes forth, grains, and a few bourbon notes. Carmelized flavors as well. Aged/oxidized notes with bourbon, bread, and faded floral/citrus hops. Hmm. I don’t think its supposed to taste this way, but I am rather enjoying it.
