12oz bottle from Sam Gabrielli... The pint glass pour was red and thick. The aroma was of an american pale ale. There was some sweet barleywine like flavors as well as sharp piney hops. The beer was enjoyable but it was just on par with the rest of the magic hat beers. They are all a little bland and this "winter" beer should have had stronger flavors.

Decent Amber ale. it is not hoppy but it is fun. I wouldnt classify it as a winter beer per say.

12oz bottle-pours a big retaining foamy light tan head and hazy amber color. Aroma is citrus hops, secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is medium malt balanced with citrus hops. Nice. OK carbonation. Best Magic Hat beer I’ve had. Good session beer.

On tap at Magic Hat. Great hoppy aroma to this one. Juicy with grapefruit rinds and pine resin, citrusy and fresh. Good malt sweetness. Medium amber clear with white foamy lacing head. Medium bodied with medium-light carbonation. Starts out with a nice caramel sweetness and some brown sugar, before being smacked by some great juicy fruity hoppiness. Surprisingly, for as much hop character as there is, the finish is quite smooth with little bitterness. Just a great balance of sweet malt and juicy fruity hops. Mild bitterness in finish, after. Nice hopped amber.

Thanks Chuck. The beer pours to a dark orange body with a really creamy light khaki head. The aroma leaps from the glass. Full of citrus, grass, grains, and granola. The flavor is malty and hoppy like an APA or imperial red. It’s grassy and weedy hops take the forefront white some light dandelions and toasted malt perks up on the finish. The palate is bitter and moderately full bodied. A damned good "amber".

basic amber colored aroma good visible carbonation w/ a thick fluffy off white head and thick lacing. Aroma is delicious tons and tons of fresh hop flowers filled my nose i was so surprised some grapefruit and passion fruit w/ a hint of pine. Palate is pretty avg, decent coating. Flavor is very nice, a really easy to drink amber ale that I would like some more of. Hints of passion fruit and strawberries a touch of carmel a hint of bread and num. Daddy Like.

This beer was surprising, I didn’t know what to expect, but when I smelled the great aroma, and saw the amber color of it, I knew I was in for a surprise, and I was. This was a great flavorful beer.

Pours clear and brilliant copper with a small but robust light tan head (which actually grows as the beer sits) with great retention; a beautiful pour. Aroma is very strong of piney/citrusy simcoe hops - yum; this is definitely not your standard amber. I don’t get anything else on the nose early, but later when the aromatic hops dissipate some, a carmelly toasted malt aroma peeks through. Flavor is interesting; the hops are very overloaded here as in the nose - quite bitter but with that fresh piney simcoe character. There are toasted malts and some winter spices after the initial hop blast, followed (of course) by some lingering bitterness. Flavor profile turns out to be a bit one-dimensional, but not unpleasant. Mouthfeel is light and a bit watery, but smooth. Carbonation seems appropriate; moderate. Not terribly complex, but a pretty pleasant fall/winter brew and among the better Magic Hat offerings I’ve had. If you are a hop head, you will enjoy this hybrid, but if you are expecting a balance toward an amber malty profile, you will be sorely disappointed (like beachbum25).
