I can’t for the life of me understand why this is marketed as a seasonal. It’s a pretty tasteless amber, with just enough hops to merit drinkability as a solid session beer. Pleasantly bitter in a certain sense, I guess, but nothing at all worth remembering. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 26, 2007 Bottle. Nice bit of hop aroma. Up front bold taste of hops then it fades away into a more mellow hoppy taste. The hops are a bit strong for an amber but it’s not too bad. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 20, 2007 Nice deep amber coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, strong metal, caramel malt and a bloody scent. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour, potent malt and an alcoholic twang that lasts for a while. Aftertaste shows some of the hops along with the bitterness and a touch of the metallic tastes, finished with good malt. Overall, a decent amber, one with some good hops, but not a showstopper. Worth trying if you can find it for under $1 at Trader Joe’s, but otherwise - skip this one in favor of something else more flavourful. I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s in Falls Church (Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia on 20-February-2007. swoopjones (1897), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2007 12oz. bottle: This one pours a slightly hazy amber with a bit of a head on it. The head drops off rather quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. The aroma is good. I get a bit of a subdued pine, as well as a touch of citrus and maple. An interesting taste. There is a bit of the pine hops, but while up front they are not too strong. Follows with a taste of caramel malt and a touch of fruitiness. Pretty well balanced and an easy drinker. A decent brew. hopscotch (5469), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 13, 2007 Bottle... Hazy dark orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Fruity, lightly earthy nose. Mild chocolate, evergreen, maple syrup, pink grapefruit and lots of tropical fruit. Tannic, fruity flavor with bitter grapefruit rind and tropical fruit. No sweetness; tongue numbing hops. Medium-bodied and astringent with mild carbonation. Bitter finish with a dash of salt. Much better than expected!
