Cloudy reddish copper body, large fluffy light tan head with nice lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet, citrus and mint, with a long malty finish. Really quite delicious. By far my favorite of Magic Hat’s offerings (along with the organic Orlio Black Lager). CptGreencoat (69), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Bottle from winter variety pack. Pours to a dark red copper with a thick beige head. Noes is hops and light malts. The hops are at the forefront of the taste while malts take a back-seat. The finish is dry, bitter, citrusy perfection. Another good seasonal from Magic Hat. boto (1352), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2007 12oz. bottle: This one pours a slightly hazy amber with a bit of a head on it. The head drops off rather quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. The aroma is good. I get a bit of a subdued pine, as well as a touch of citrus and maple. An interesting taste. There is a bit of the pine hops, but while up front they are not too strong. Follows with a taste of caramel malt and a touch of fruitiness. Pretty well balanced and an easy drinker. A decent brew. Grapefruit, grassy hops and red berries in the aroma. Firm grassy oily flavor with grapefruit and red berries, flowing into a dry hopbitter aftertaste, with some strawberry fruit. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Pours a fairly clear red with a large head that’s touched with amber. A slight corny smell under the caramel. Easy drinking but not as hoppy as the label suggests. Foxbush (468), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2009 This was purchased in Ashland from the Caboose. Magic Hat has many successes and this is another above average beer. The color is clear amber that is most attractive well before drining. The fothy head stays with beer. The mix of spicy hops is excellent. This is well balanced beer with medium body and moderate carbonation.
