Aroma is fruity hop, and dusty caramel malt.
Flavour is actually quite nice.
strong fruity and herbal hop combine with a toasty caramel malt body. Nice soft bitter finish. porterhouse (1165), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2007 (Bottle (best before end of 2/08) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/l target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) Heaps of hops...Pours darkish lightly hazy amber. Two fingers of nicely-formed, smooth-topped biscuit head. Aroma is heavy grapefruit and some pine. If you sniff hard there is light caramel and vanilla. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, medium-full. Flavor is all about the hops, barely any malt sneaks through. Heavy grapefruit and pine, about as hoppy an amber ale as I can recall. Probably even hoppier than FFF Pride and Joy. There is a caramel-vanilla malt base underneath but it is pretty well-hidden. Medium bitter. Very enjoyable for hopsters but I think it could stand a touch more balance. Aroma was grapefruits and a citrus that smelled like it was coming from a soapy detergent. The flavor was sweet malts, some caramel and a lot of citrusy zing...maybe a touch of pine. Light and freshing with a nice hop bite. I liked it. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

Pine and citrus and not that balanced. Some caramel malts but mostly juicy hops. Not bad. alobar (1056), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Nice cloudy amber color with an immediately large soapy head that quickly disappears. Surprisingly hoppy aroma and taste. Smooth bitter aftertaste-not offensive. Lighter body than the taste would lead one to believe. Drjohnrock (95), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Small off white head with good lacing, enticing sweet spicy aroma with the taste being similar but with enough hops to keep things balanced. Good seasonal brew. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Bottle. Drank from the bottle. Aroma of caramel malt. Caramel flavor followed by a distinct hop taste, touch of spice. Decent. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 29, 2007 Bottle. Dark amber color. Very hoppy aroma, like brewery hoppy aroma. The flavor is less hoppy than one would expect, and it wasn’t too bad, though there wasn’t much to this except for the strong hop aromas.
