I’m glad there was not as many hops in the flavor. Flavor of sweet malts with a small amount of hops in the ending. Thanks for the trade JB. argo0 (7041), Washington DC, USA

This is a nice average amber ale, with a liitle extra hop included. Red bodied, short tan head. Aroma is a nice sweetness, but not strong. finished with a caramel sweetness then dry. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2008 The pour is deep red, with a med off white head. The aroma is of sweet hops and citrus. The initial tasting is marred by excessive carbonation. However, after getting past that, the flavor is strong hops, with a good bitter character. The body is lighter than other Christmas/winter ambers I have had. The finish is slow and lingering, leaving an aftertaste much like the regular flavor. And enjoyable brew. baobubba (451), Corvallis, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Coarse bubbly head with a clear amber body. Aroma is interesting, very citrusy for an amber but it has a hint of malty stickiness to stick to the style. Body seems a bit thin to me which translates to a thin tasting amber. All the parts are there, just not as flavorful as I’d like. Pretty good brew if you’re going to sit down for a few. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Bottle. Dark amber pour with a fading tanned head. Nose is hoppy and citrusy with light caramel notes. Some spicy hops in here as well. Taste is bit too high on the hops, both spicy and citrusy, and not enough malt and caramel. Light toffee-ish notes as well. Body is medium and moderately carbonated with a lingering bitterness. Finishes with more hops, citrus oils and fruits, soft spicy hops, light malt and caramel. Ends a bit better than it starts, but nothing out of the ordinary here. Apellonious (53), USA

You can only smuggle so many cases/growlers in your car coming back from Vermont. Visited the brewery, great people, great brewery, great beer on draft.
That being said, to the beer......
Pours a dary ruby brown color, thin head. The aroma is hoppy, winter spicyness involved.
Taste....hoppy. Somewhat watery. Somewhat bitter. May have to have a couple to adjust the taste buds from the Guinesses I have been drinking. Nothing terribly exciting or complex, but , unless you are not a fan of hoppy beers, there is nothing to keep you away from trying it.
happy holidays. Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Draft at CAH Innsbrook. Medium towards dark amber, slight head. Aroma is caramel and citric hops. Flavor is also caramel malt and citric hops, perhaps a hint of earthiness. Not bad. Not great. Just sort of there.
