3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 unclemattie (3706) - Georgia, USA - MAY 20, 2013
12oz bottle. Cap read, "Better Luck Next Time." Golden color, white foam. Aroma of pale malt, sweet grain, and the slightest nose of straw & fruit esters. By the appearence & aroma alone I’d have to say this was a Pale Lager. Tastes of cereal grains, with hints of simple saline. Finishes with watered down flavors of coriander. Linger mouthfeel of saline.

Golden pour and white lacy head. Smells like the beach. Good lawn mower beer, the sea salt is a really cool change of pace. It’s 98 in the sun today and this is perfect for the yard work i"m fixin to hit.

12Oz bottle poured into a pint glass yellow cloudy appearance, one finger slowly dissipating head, skunky aroma but very tasty. I would drink this often if it wasn’t so salty. I’m sure that sea salt will bring your blood pressure up in the long run

Appearance: Pours a bright yellow gold. A little hazy.
Aroma: Husky grain, low tide/sea weed.
Taste: Corn, earthy grain, truffle. A little salty with subtle tartness.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Lively carb.
Overall: A fun, drinkable little beer. I haven’t had too many goses, but so far I’m a fan of the style.

Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of lemon/lime zest, coriander, soap.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation.
Simple coriander-and-lemon nose, light and watery in the mouth, and not particularly clean. Not horrible but not good.

Bottle from the mixpack, broken up at trader joe’s. with permission of course. Pours is lightly cloudy orange with a thin white lace. Nose is light, clean, cereal malt, light coriander, carraway and salt coming through as it warms a bit. Flavor is okay--more cereal malt, some heavier creamy sweeter malt, some mineral, light coriander in the finish, but way too flabby and sweet for the style. No salt noted in the flavor. I appreciate the effort from Magic Hat and encourage them to continue in this direction.

bottle. lightly hazed gold body with a thin white head and high effervescence. lemon juice, dried flowers, coriander, wheat, pale malt and musty sulfur aroma. medium-light body, frothy carbonation and medium acid give it intrigue. tart, grainy, starchy lemon cake up front with semi -sweet grains and a slick and oily film in the finish.
