1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Draft at the Dillinger in Boulder City. Dark clear brown color, fluffy brown head. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste is similar. How is this a saison?

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark brown with a huge lacey head. Nothing but its strong carbonation suggests saison style. It is disappointing given the other beers from this brewery that are among my favorites.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a brownish color with off-white head. Some floral notes, fruit, and another weird aroma that I canít quite put my finger on it on the nose; follows onto the palate. This one is weird.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Taps, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head, The aroma is light citrus. The flavour is strong bitter with a watery tart resin light medicinal hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not my favourite beer and I wonít be ordering another. A Saison? I donít think so. Where is the drawing board again?

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Probably an old bottle, although it's hard to see how it would degrade too much. Taste is average. Mouthfeel is thin and strong carbonation.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown with a very tall foamy head. Dry and tart, complex flavors , lingering finish. Not one that I would reach for in the future.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Rated on 4-29-2014 (Bottle) This beer pours a huge smooth frothy beige head that mostly diminishes, transparent reddish brown hue, lively, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing adorns my glass. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, suggestion of fresh fruit, and earthy. The flavor is semi-sweet, moderately bitter, roasted malt, earthy, and some fresh fruit. The mouthfeel is watery and thin. This beer is light bodied. This is unlike any Saison beer that I have ever drank/rated. The aromas and flavors are not typical of this beer style and thus the flavor of this beer is a major turnoff for me. I do not like the taste of this beer at all and it is a beer I have no interest in drinking again.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy fine to large sized tan colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque light black brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The smooth aroma was floral. The sharp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering herbal aftertaste. The tangy flavor contained notes of mildly bitter mild spice mild hops brown malt breads and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle - This is a saison? Really? huh. Okay. It pours dark amber with a one finger, thick tan head that lingers. It smells and tastes of caramel malt. Thereís some spicy yeast, maybe a hint of fruit, and a mild finish. Itís okay I guess.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a murky very dark brown with an average (1-2 finger) light brown creamy head that slowly diminished, leaving behind a nice creamy film which lasted throughout and produced excellent sheets of lacing.
The aroma was of roasted dark bread malts, grassy hops and a doughy yeast with notes of coffee, dark fruit (plums and raisons), a slight smokiness and a mild nutty presence.
The taste was a lot like the aroma with a bold roasty maltiness and a touch of coffee which lingered throughout, progressing with a nice dark fruit infusion and a mild hint of yeast, with the finish being a bit smoky along with a touch of nuttiness at the end. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow, with a roasty smoky fruity taste left lying in the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was just below medium in body with a smooth creamy texture and a nice soft carbonation.
Overall I really find it hard to consider this a Saison. I feel it is more reminiscent of a Doppelbock, but either way it is a very tasty and enjoyable brew... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews
