Draft at Madrones in Frederick, MD served in a pint glass; clear golden color with white head. Aroma notes of light malt sweetness, some grain and faint grassy/fruity hops. Taste adds bread, more malt sweetness and light earthiness. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Nice enough malty yet crisp golden ale.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent light yellow color with very little carbonation, razor thin white ring about the vessel for a head with very light lacing. Aroma of grass- and that’s about it. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt just tastes like grass on the start, light pepper in the middle, finish is rather bland which transcends into water. Drinkable, but everytime I have a Magic Hat brew, it just tastes off to me.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear gold, no real head, lace or retention. Aroma of grassy and dank. Taste is sweet, no real bitterness. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, watery mouth feel. Finishes skunk like. This is either old or just belongs with the TV beers. Not good.

Tastes very much like cat piss. Don’t ask me how I know. Would not recommend you test my assertion, but let me know if you do.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/9/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a good English pale ale style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. Pours the color of urine and doesn’t taste much better. Absolutely no head. Might have gotten a bad bottle but whatever the case this just wasn’t any good. Ended up down the drain.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/8/15

Aroma: The aroma is lightly malty, with bread, grain, dough, a little dirt, and some light grass
Appearance: It pours a clear gold color with small, fizzy head that dissipates quickly
Flavor: The flavor is similar, doughy, with some dirt and grassy flavor and a little mustiness
Palate: The body is light-medium, overly fizzy, which hurts the drinkability, with a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Eh. This one is okay. There’s some solid components here. Not a great mouthfeel. It goes down alright, but overall, it just isn’t a particularly interesting beer.
