Not a great beer. Kind of boring and lacking in flavor. Drinkable but nothing special.

Bottle. Pours hazy and gold with a little white head. Vegetable aroma. A little bit of funk and sweetness at the beginning but it finishes light and crisp. Not sure what they were going for here. Tastes like a macrobrew and I could have gotten something similar for a lot cheaper.

Bottle: Pours nearly clear, yellow gold with a thin white head. Lemony grain, grassy aroma. Taste is slightly metallic, lemon-rind, grain..... Vegetal notes. Comes across a little odd-tasting, overall.

Pours clear blonde / yellow with a white head. The aroma has pale dry crackery malt, light rich side and some brightness with floral / herbal hops. It has a fairly light sharp body with modest carbonation with a bite. The flavor starts with pale malt, bright melon, minor berries, subtle hops, clean blonde ale malt and some spiciness of hops. The finish has more spicy hops. Nice blonde ale.

12oz bottle pours with a watery crystal clear gold body that supports a three (3) second ’head.’ The aroma offers up corn, sugary malts, a dash of lime and a sense of floral hops mixed with honey bread. The taste starts with prickly carbonation forcing up a modest citrusy lime and then it gets into honey, bread and sweet creamed corn.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured light yellow, clear, small white head no lacing. Aroma grain, yeast and maybe some malts. Taste is similar, grain, malts slightly bitterness and some peppery notes. Very easy to drink, crisp, refreshing. OK beer.

This beer is pretty refreshing and pretty much the same as most of their other beers. Mild in every aspect. A good, yet very regular beer.

Tap. Visible carbonation clear gold white head. Corn aroma crisp dry flavor a bit grassy. A beer to ease off with on a drinking night.

Magic Hat Single Chair has a medium, white head, a clear, bubbly, golden-straw appearance, and some slight lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, very yeasty, creamy maltiness. Taste is of those elements, with some sourness and a touch of bitter. Mouthfeel is medium, and Magic Hat Single Chair finishes dry and easy drinking. RJT

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Slightly foggy pale yellow pour with a modest white fizzy head. I do not know what it is about that Magic Hat yeast strain but all of their beers have this kind of vegetable oil, buttery aroma and this is no different. I pick up a hint on pale malts and grassy hop note. The body is about medium. The taste has a toasted biscuit and bread character with a clean, almost citrus-like hop finish.

If I had reviewed this 3 years ago while drinking it on tap at Mad River over a bowl of chili after a nice sunshine-filled trip down the mountain it would have gotten a much higher rating. Today, drinking it from a bottle it tastes a lot differently than I remembered. Aroma is faint apple, citrus, metallic like a lager. Taste is bitter with strange yeast flavor and lager-beer metallic after-taste. Beer would be smooth on palate if not for medium carbonation. The last time I had this I remember it being maltier which I liked. Now it just tastes...strange?
