beastiefan2k (1109), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jul 19, 2008 Probably the best Magic Hat I have had in a very long time. Tap @ Ginger Man pours with a medium head. Aroma is very lemon-y and grassy/herbal. Taste is lemon soda with lots of lemon zest and its a bit berry-tart. Goes down easy and is actually super fun drink, especially on a 90 degree day.
DocLock (4102), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 Draft at Capone’s. Copper colored with minimal off-white head. Nose is vinous red winey fruit, balsamic vinegary, and earthy notes. Taste had some cherry, red winey, and sour mashy notes, with a watery palate and an overall lack of complexity. kkearn (652), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2008 Draft, at Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pours brown-amber, topped with a moderate sized beige head. Aroma of balsamic vinegar and sour cherry. Lots of cherry crowds the palate, providing more sweetness than tartness. I really don’t sense any grapefruit as is mentioned in the beer description. This seems like a redbach-type beer; more sweet than sour. kevd193213 (323), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Sep 2, 2008 7 oz draught sample. Pale yellow pour with a tiny fizzy head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of vinegar-cider and apple peels. Taste is very thin and watery with a faint artificial sour finish. Nice try by a good brewery, but this is pretty poor. hopdog (4568), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2008 On tap at Capones. Poured a medium copperish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of vinegar with some grapes and cherries. Tastes of vinegar (not as strong as the aromas), cherries, and citrus. On the sweeter side and no real sourness to it. egajdzis (2970), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2008 [Draft @ Capones] Poured a lightly hazy red amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vinegar, wood, cherries, and some berry. Taste was sweeter, cherry, more berries, some citrus, but sweet, and not cohesive enough to be anything interesting.
