Onslow (1160) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Cloudy orange / brown brew with this off white head. Mild aroma of citrus, floral, rye. Taste is mildly sweet at the very start with a sour / bitter finish. SOme resin, some hints of the rye, a little spice. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Not a standout but a fully competent and enjoyable IPA.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid pumpkin pie colored with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is caramel and rye malts, hops, floral and perfumy. Tastes a bit spicy, perfumy, floral, peppery, with a poppy flavor, rye, hops, and a fairly smooth and rich finish.

Bottle from neighbor Tom, nice rye flavor with some bitterness on the finish. Pretty weak for an IPA.

Pour is a cloudy copper with a large white head. Aroma is some spicy rye and not much else including hops. Flavor is a heavy malt with a little rye malt but along with the aroma there is very little hop presence. KInda a heavy malt bomb and where are the hops?

Bottle from Mari’s. Pours hazy copper with a small white head. The aroma has muted citrus, light floral notes, a little rye character. The taste has a nice rye kick with a kind of funky, earthy finish.. decent hop presence. Decent palate.

Meh. A very average beer in the IPA on Tour series. Aroma was very perfumey. Perfume with a hint of ginger. Pour was a nice light amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was very light and weak. Rye is the predominant flavor with just hints of malt and only a hint of hops. Sweet sticky and spicy finish. Decent carbonation.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4919) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy chestnut color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish and a bit spicy with gritty floral hops. The flavor was dry, perfumey, floral and herbal and was a bit rough. Long dry herbal and perfumey hop finish. Medium body. Eh.
