3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of rye, earthiness, pepper and pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, earthiness and light pine with a smooth dry lingering rye finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle poured into imperial pint glass. Pours a copper/ dark orange with a bit of a red hue. Large white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma of spices, hops, malt and cinnamon. Taste is pretty malty for an IPA. Malts, rye, citrus and hops in the taste. Hop bitterness really donít come through until the finish. Nice full body, pretty creamy texture, carbonation is a bit high though. Overall an interesting IPA in that the hops arenít as dominant.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy, brown-orange pour with an off-white head. The aroma has caramel with just a hint of spicy rye. It has a light, slightly oily texture with lively carbonation. The taste is bitter with a very dry finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark amber with a thin white head. Aromas of spices and some light hops but rather faint. Flavor is mainly rye with some earthy hops but itís not really blowing my skirt up. Itís drinkable and the alcohol is hidden well but thatís all it has going for it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours slightly hazy brown with an off white head that lasts. The nose is malt with spice. The is a IPA unctuous with rye modifying the barley malt sweetness with its hint of spice. The hops come through at the end and in the aftertaste. BTW, Iíve found the Spaten glass to be superior to other glasses including Sam Adams iteration for allowing the nose of the beer to come through. Or, maybe itís just my nose ;>).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear light amber - soapy, sticky lace - nose is very malt forward - quite a bit of toffee - moderate woody hops - soft carbonation - medium body - flavor is also fairly malt forward - quite a bit of toffee, followed by a fairly hearty rye character - more earthy, woody hop flavor than there is actual bitterness - the malt/hop interplay and balance reminds me very much of an American style barley wine, but in a good way - a solid brew for magic hat.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Spring Variety Pack. Pours a clear mahogany, thick chunky head. The aroma is rye and caramel, with floral hops. Flavors of spicy rye, pine, sweet malt. Comes across as full bodied, but easy drinking. Great balance and interplay between the rye and hops.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle poured into a Samuel Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: Orange/brown in color, with three fingers of a creamy, sand colored head. Lacingís quite nice on this one as well.
Smell: Really a lot like an IPA with a burst of floral sorts of hops, but thereís certainly a rye aroma, which should be expected (given the name), as well as some sweet smelling malts. A very nice smelling beer. Allís good so far.
Taste/feel: I havenít had many ryes, so Iíll throw that out there right away... but itís quite an intriguing beer. I get a lot of sweetness on the front, with a lot of rye bitterness on the finish. Thereís a very nice balance here though, which really makes this beer quite drinkable. The finish is not for the faint of heart, but Ticket to Rye is tasty. It smells and drinks like a sweet-ish IPA, but the rye makes things interesting. After having their #9 as my first beer by them, things have really only gone up from there. I like Ticket to Rye more than I thought I would.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty good looking, coppery and clear, good head and lacing.
I thought the aroma was a bit odd, kinda like some hoppy lagers that Iíve had. Sweet, spicy, quite floral, a bit malty.
Taste is somewhat different to the aroma, very spicy, mildly sweet, rye-forward malt backbone, a fair degree of hoppiness.
Itís actually a bit slick and sweet on the finish, with a lingering spicy bitterness and a medium body, medium carbonation.
Itís a very tasty beer. Good thing I got six of them.
