Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle - part of a Spring Mixed 12 pack. Darkish copper pour with a light off-white head. Neutral aroma with just a hint of nuttiness and some roasted malt. Subtly sweet flavor with some toasted bread notes, some nuts, a bit of muted citrus, but overall a bit "mushy" and damp. Mouthfeel, rather plain.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear, brown-amber with a beady head. Label is a psychedelic album cover - reminiscent of Sgt. Pepper meets Led Zeppelin. A light toasted soy nut aroma. Dry, toasty/roasty, slightly nutty, an unusual beer. It’s like a well-done vienna with a shot of porter. Not terribly complex, but you could drink a mess of these. It’s got character, and dark notes, but it isn’t clingy. ABC, Betton Rd.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear brownish copper body with a small khaki head. Aroma has some light roasted malts, nuts, soapy with some caramel. Flavor is much of the same but with some nice malt background and smokey notes. Sweet light bodied finish. Not bad...ehhhh

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle: Appearance is a brownish/amber with an off white to tan head that linger for little bit. Aroma is grainy, bready, malt, with some definite floral hops hidden under the malt. Taste is roasted malt forward with a rounded mild hop backing that is quite nice. This isn’t a punch you in the face brew but it is quite nice in my honest opinion, Cheers!

I have been leary of Magic Hat for a bit now since they have increased their offerings. More styles means less attention to detail and subpar beers and some of the others they have produced lately are just to fill sampler cases. This beer however was very good. It had a sweet grassy smell with a hint of citrus. The taste was smooth and good on the palate. Finished with just a light pinning of spice but. Enjoyable and session-able. Would purchase this again and hope it sticks around as a reliable yearly seasonal.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Pours deep rust orange with decent khaki head. The aroma is toffee, pepper, mushrooms, toast, and grass. The flavor is pepper and some sweetish spice at first. Smooth sweet caramel malts dominate after that initial spice kick. Marshmellow, light wood, and toast are in there, too. The finish is grassy with some bland bitterness. Meh.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Modest head, but it recedes in a rocky fashion. Deep copper color; very clear. Some ring lace.
Lots of caramel aroma; light alcohol in the background. No notable hop (good for a marzen).
Far drier than the smell lets on. Also, this features a good hop finish. The body is typical of the style, which is to say it’s lighter than an equivalently colored ale. The aftertaste is well-balanced, while the sipping flavor is lightly toasted malt, similar to "red" beers. Overall, a very pleasant and easy-to-drink brew.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Hazy lite brown. Soapy smell at first. Then goes candy sweet on olfactory. Soap carries over to first taste and then it morphs into a smokey background. oily soapy palate, almost like an ale. Quite rude at times even tho my drinken buddy likes this unique stuff. Yes, discerningly malt, choco carab.
