12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of saw dust, some earthiness, and some toasted bread. Tastes of toasted bread, and grains. Thin and somewhat watery body.

12oz bottle drank out of a medium sized snifter glass. A stellar aroma of freshly cut fire wood. The apearance was a pleasant copper color with a half inch head. Flavor; light, woody, and slightly sweet. Palate; extremely light and refreshing, but it was this beerís weakest attribute. will drink again and re-rate.

alcaponejunior (438) - Texas, USA - MAY 5, 2012
Appearance - Not a lot of head or lacing, but the color is a brilliant deep amber, almost purple color, perfectly clear. Itís a pretty color. Aroma is earthy malts, almost dirt-like (thatís not bad, BTW, I like the smell of freshly dug earth). Itís also just a touch musty. It reminds me of a bitter or a mild in flavor, earthy, tons of caramel malts and nutty notes, Not outstanding but it kind of grows on you as you drink it. Rich and smooth, lightly slick, lingering earthy caramel malt aftertaste. Itís tasty but not outstanding. Quite different for the style though.

Aroma is spiced bread, hard to describe. The flavor is spicy bread but not rye, malts and a hint of hops in the finish. Hard to place the flavor for this, pretty good.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark copper with about a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of caramel, a little grass and a little sour green apple. Taste is light bitter. Very malty. Mostly caramel with a little grass and some roasty nuts. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Much better than I was expecting from Magic Hat actually.

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with minimal, quickly dissipating head. Aroma has notes of wheat and toasted malt. Taste has wheat, toasted malt, and lemon notes. Overall an easy drinker.

yarry (527) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - APR 19, 2012
3/4 pint bottle, 5.1% A/V Pours a deep ruby brown, thin tan head. Aroma is a little spicy, leathery and chocolatey. The taste is chocolatey and roasty mainly with some slight coffee notes. Goes down smooth and leaves a nice full palate. Not a bad beer, though nothing amazing either.

A light brown ale with a white frothy head. Good aroma that raises hope. The flavor is too unbalanced and spicy to let it get a higher rating.
