Hazy lite brown. Soapy smell at first. Then goes candy sweet on olfactory. Soap carries over to first taste and then it morphs into a smokey background. oily soapy palate, almost like an ale. Quite rude at times even tho my drinken buddy likes this unique stuff. Yes, discerningly malt, choco carab.

From bottle. Mild spicy hop note, biscuit, some oxidation though not quite rubbery. Roasted barley. Coppery red-brown clear with some chill haze, topped with light foamy head. Water body and medium carbonation. Starts medium sweet and toasty with biscuit and papery hop oxidation notes. Weak sugary finish with little hop bitterness/character. Nutty sweet finish and saccharin after.

Bottle. Pours a fizzy amber with a small yellow head that dissipates like soda. No lace. No retention. Aroma is toast, brown sugar, some chemicals. Taste is burnt toast, chemicals, old pancake syrup, artificial candies. Yuck.

Bomber purchased at Vingoís in Whiting, NJ. Pours a very dark amber, almost chesnut brown color with dark golden burnt orange hues when held to a light source and a two finger frothy off-white head. Excellent retention only slowly fading into a lasting ring that leaves chunks of soapy lacing behind. Toasty caramel malt aroma with hints of biscuit and toffee as well as a pungent earthy hop character. The hop presence in the nose is very earthy and almost smells like soil/dirt. There is also a slight metallic character that isnít very appealing. Medium bodied with a dry piney hop presence that lingers troughout over a slightly yeast, grainy and metallic malt backbone into a very earthy long dry finish. Hints of sweet corn, solvent and grain and the hop finish is very dirty/soil like. This tastes pretty much like an unpleasantly hoppy adjunct lager. Avoid.

Light malt, no hops. Smells like an adjunct with some malt additive. Looks like iced tea. Meh. Fairly standard Magic Hat crap.

Very hazy deep amber coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, yeast, nuts, caramel, toffee, raisins and a touch of figs - odd for the style. Medium-bodied; Sharp pungent nutty flavours with some odd lingering malt and caramel with some dryness and not much else - odd and very mild. Aftertaste, potent, dry, bitter, not too pleasant. Overall, a pretty bad offering from a not-so-great brewery. Worth passing up unless you like unbalanced and bland lagers that don;t taste like they should...and if you do - you probably arenít on this site. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC on 15-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 20-February-2010.

Aroma of canned peas. Clear copper, thin yellow head. Powdery mouthfeel. Earthy barley malt flavor. The taint of canned peas lingers. Flavorful, but dirtry and unclean for a lager, even a vienna. Poor quality.

Fart in a bottle? I wish Iíd thought of that. Aroma is non-existent. Mouthfeel is full of carbonation. I canít place taste but it ainít good. Luckilly it doesnít last long.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that retained pretty well. The nose is way too nutty and grainy for the style, smells like hazelnuts or peanuts. The flavor is very off for the style too, I canít get the taste of peanuts out of my mind, especially on the finish. None of the sweet and clean munich malt character that I want from a Vienna. Light to medium bodied with a bit of stickiness. This is pretty awful, even from Magic Hat. They ought to call this Peanut Beer.
