3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 GL2814 (293) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 29, 2013Aroma of pine and toasted caramels, this ESB pours a cloudy red-orange with mild lacing and a thin white head. The spruce tips give it a slight citrus quality, which works well with the subtle spices, and mild bitterness.

Golden color with light carbonation. Resembles a lager, clean. Mildly hoppy smell. Hop taste up front, quick finish. Average.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jsmerig (798) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Pours a honey gold with a white foamy head. Aroma of syrupy malt with pine. Taste is almost like a mixture of rye with a spruce. Bitter in the finish as the hops interact with the pine. Thick mouthfeel. A novel brew, but not for multiple consumption.

Caught me off guard! Orange tea color with a weak head and no lacing. Smooth flavor with just a hint of the spruce in the aftertaste. Solid malt flavor with the expected sourness of an ESB.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 williamherbert (1122) - Syracuse, New York, USA - APR 24, 2013
Heavy yeast aroma, lots of "English" here. Certainly pleasant enough, but not strong. Estery.
The appearance is murky yellow orange. Not a ton of head or the carbonation. Glowing color; looks good.
The flavor is English ale; yeast and esters. Earthy in some spots; scant traces of hop. The malts are sweet, with a tinge of the sugary.
Palate is smooth and buttery. When it warms up, it’s not bad. Very malty, very earthy. Drinkable enough.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Beerathon (598) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 20, 2013
I do not get any of the flavorful with aromatic spruce tips that they advertise. This is such a "meh" beer. Taste is just a step above a maco lager.
Does look okay though with a thin head that remains throughout.

12oz bottle from a mixer pack. Pale slightly hazy orange with a white head. Slightly hoppy forest aroma, sugar, light sweet malts, bit of honey. Moderate to high carbonation, mild+ body, oversweet and slightly artificial, becomes somewhat dry, sweetness dies down a bit and leaves some leaves on the palate.

Not much scent, vague pine, resin, foam. Taste is... what is this? Quite unexpected is what it is. Like a glass of beer with pine needles thrown in, minus the pinch. Credit for making something unique, but it’s not entirely pleasant. I could see myself looking for this again in the future, though. I like the whole woodsy hippy angle, too.

This tastes like a Christmas tree in a glass. Interesting attempt but it’s not for me.
