A collaboration with the Fabulous Brodies Beers of London, in true Brodies style we brewed a fruity twist on a modern classic . An all pale malt body and balanced bitterness creates the background to let the fruit shine. We added loads of richly sweet mangos in the boil and again in fermentation to accentuate the tropical fruity character of the Citra hops added in the hop back and in conditioning. Deeply fruity yet deliciously crisp and satisfying, all hail The Great Alphonso!

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2014 Keg at Billy IV, London during the Magic Rock Tap Takeover. Pours clear gold with a fine, white cream head. Juicy orange nose, light straw, passionfruit. Medium sweet flavor with very graceful hops, light pee, straw, pale malts, fresh citrus. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly dryness to finish with biscuity pale malts, juicy orange, mango, papaya. Delicious. Utterly drinkable. As with the High Wire NZ, I would say this is the UK’s answer to the best stuff coming out of the USA. Superb.

I also tried this beer on cask. While the cask version had more robust character, it was a touch stickier and less refreshing than the keg version. As such, I would say I prefer the keg version.

Draught, Liverpool Psych Fest 2013. Clear golden looks with a small white head. Lovely tropical fruit hoppy goodness in the beak. The flavour had further cracking piney hop bitterness in tandem with some pale malts and notes of mango. Dry bitter finish. Extremely drinkable. Tip top collaboration and hands down the best beer I’ve drunk at a music festival !

Keg. Fuzzy hazy yellow orange sunset ale with a decent fluffy white cloud. Nose is heavy mango. A little tangerine. Fruits a plenty. In the mouth there?s a malt balance and then TONS of mango and lemon and tangerine and fruit fruit fruit. Finish is solid malt holding in fruits. Long lasting and quenching. Yummy.

Keg & Cask at King William. It pours clear golden yellow with an orange hue and small white head. The nose is orange, tangerine, passion fruit, mango, straw, hopsack and grass. The taste is hay, straw, mango, apricot, resinous, light metallic, solid bitterness, pithy orange, tangerine, passion fruit and a touch of grass with a long, dry finish. Medium bodied. Cask version is slightly sweeter and stickier, which I think provides more balance overall. The higher carbonation of the keg version is harsher on the palate. A great fruity APA.
