Tap. PSBH, Manchester. Clear, chestnut brown. Halo of beige head. Sweet, dried raisin. Plenty of the Sherry barrel. Some chocolate. Some thick toffee. A dry, woodiness keeps the sweetness from overpowering. Taste is banana sweet, turning coffee bitter. Palate is smooth, rich, and slightly alcoholic. Finishes long, light, chewy bitter.

Draught at CBC 2014. Opaque black liquid with a medium tan head. Aroma of licorice, port wine, wood, chocolate, dried fruit and booze. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with notes of licorice and port wine. Full bodied with low carbonation. Really nice.

Backlog rating. Keg at CBC Covent Garden, London. It pours the darkest brown color with a small moche head. Aroma is bold and intensely rich and sweet, with notes of dark chocolate, sweet espresso, port wine, vanilla pod, milk shake, red wine barrel. Taste is sweet and roasty with crème fraiche, port wine, nutmeg, wood, roasted coffee beans, vanilla and almond dark chocolate. Finishes rich and sweet with some alcohol kick. Full bodied with silky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Overall, a big hitter, delicious

Keg. Black with a large light brown head. Roasted and chalky nose with some fruity notes. Warming and complex. For some reason I think of grappa and not sherry. Light acidic. Wooden, fruity, ash, chalk, bitter dark chocolate, dark fruits. Full body, long warming finish. After a couple of sips it holds my brain in a firm grip.

Tasted @ BBF 2014. Quite prominent sherry notes in this brew, and I don’t know why exactly, but I really loved it. Mayby it’s the age. I should probably go on an atlantic cruise next.

@Indyman - Black with coffee-esque head. Aroma of sweet, dried fruits. It’s rich, sweet, thick and bitter. Massively intense flavours.
