Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respectÖ

This is a serious Imperial stout. Had a half on tap at the new Brewdog bar in Bethnal green. Unfortunately the girl who served me was obviously not aware of how sacred this beer was and served it with spill over in a half pint glass. Unbelievable full oily body super heavy and you can somewhat feel the alcohol. Excellent beer.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. An inky black beer that pours with a rapidly disappearing dark brown head. The beer has an oily mouthfeel with strong orange marmalade hop flavours, coffee, liquorice, roasted notes and more spicy hop on the finish. More a Black IPA than an Imperial Brown Stout.

Bottle good brown head on very dark brown. Big dry smoky flavour. Lighter aroma for big beer. Very tasty dry stout. Cool for big ABV

On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. A black body with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet, slightly roasted malt, molasses and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, light roasted dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate with warming alcohol. Full body and long aftertaste. Very sweet but nice balance anyway.

A very dark stout with brown highlights when held directly to the light. Plenty of bitter roast and coffee on the nose with some lighter chocolate raisin aromas playing a part. Slick to begin with then a dense carbonation. Very rich and hugely bitter with both hop and burnt malts. The % is quite apparent. Very harsh and savory. Unfortunately the main thing that stands out to me is the burnt flavours, they seem as though they go too far, like toast you just wouldnít eat. I canít tell if this is pleasant or not. I donít mind drinking it though. OK so I think what it is is that this beer kinda sucks in the mouth, way too bitter. But then 1-5minutes later it is still lingering and itís pretty delicious. This makes you want some more and so a cycle begins.
