COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect…

Bottle good brown head on very dark brown. Big dry smoky flavour. Lighter aroma for big beer. Very tasty dry stout. Cool for big ABV

On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. A black body with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet, slightly roasted malt, molasses and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, light roasted dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate with warming alcohol. Full body and long aftertaste. Very sweet but nice balance anyway.

A very dark stout with brown highlights when held directly to the light. Plenty of bitter roast and coffee on the nose with some lighter chocolate raisin aromas playing a part. Slick to begin with then a dense carbonation. Very rich and hugely bitter with both hop and burnt malts. The % is quite apparent. Very harsh and savory. Unfortunately the main thing that stands out to me is the burnt flavours, they seem as though they go too far, like toast you just wouldn’t eat. I can’t tell if this is pleasant or not. I don’t mind drinking it though. OK so I think what it is is that this beer kinda sucks in the mouth, way too bitter. But then 1-5minutes later it is still lingering and it’s pretty delicious. This makes you want some more and so a cycle begins.

Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey vanilla aroma with licorice and flower notes. Dry-sweet floral chocolate and vanilla taste with roasty alcohol notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish roasty burnt vanilla aftertaste with caramelly grainy notes. Lovely! Harmonic and incredibly vivid flavours. (0.15l sample at Haand 2012.)

330ml bottle. Pours almost black, with a beige head. Massive, roasted aroma, chocolate, coffee beans, smoke, fudge, caramel, hops, hints of vanilla (?), licorice. Off-dry, full bodied, high bitterness, balanced CO2. Rich, roasted taste, lots of malt, chocolate, coffee, smoke, tobacco, licorice, black cherries, hops, ashes. Will probably age beautifully. Bottle 330ml. (Thanks SaintMatty) A black colour with a medium high beige head. An aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice and coffee. The taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. A medium body oily texture, soft carbonation and a medium long bitter duration.

Bottle at Haandfestival 2012. Very dark, tan head. Chocolate, cocoa, a hint of tar. Smooth, soft, velvety. Nice stuff, but the barrel aged version is even better!
