Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect…

Bottle. It pours a black body under a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. Roasted malts, coffee, some dark chocolate, licorice and wood on the nose. Alcohol too. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming, with a pleasant carbontion. Quite sweetish. Roasted malts, hoppy pine cones and resins, toffee, molasses and some hoppy bitterness. Lasting finish with alcohol and roasted malts. Pretty nice this one, but it’s a bit unbalanced. 140717

(33 cl bottle courtesy of minutemat; BBD: January 2015) Pours black with big, deep toffee head. Good retention and beautiful lace. Aroma is toasted malt with notes of coffee and toffee. Creamy texture, soft carbonation, medium body and a dark and roasted, bitter finish. Flavour is dry, dark, roasted with cofee notes. Alcohol is well integrated.

On tap at Brewdog Birmingham, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of cocoa, roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is very rich and bold, with big notes of coffee, cocoa and roasted malt. Thick as fuck, almost fudge-like, with a robust flavour profile - a good hoppy kick to balance things out as well. Excellent stuff.

A black beer with a red shine under a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and bourbon? The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, bourbon, soy sauce, and dark chocolate, leading to a dry, roasted, and alcoholic finish.

Fra fad, CBC 2014. Kaffe-sort med et cremet beige skum. Dufter som en sød, hårdtristet italiensk espresso med et stykke mørk chocolade on the side. Cremet, fuldfed, robust. Jeg drak den til en ostebakke fra Unika/Mikkeller. Perfekt match-

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2014 Cask, Euston tap, London. Looks of an over-sized Italian espresso, aroma likewise, plus some very dark chocolate. Very full bitter-sweet taste, rather sour palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Black body with a medium tan head. Aroma is big and malty, nuts, sweaty socks, dark choc. Didn’t hit the high notes for me but still a pretty good beer.
