4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle. Opaque black with small beige to brown frothy lacing head. Aroma is initially ruled by grassy hop, in parts displaced later by roasty dark malt notes, resulting intermediately in a mixture with a vegetable character, carrot, celery. Smooth, a slighty sweet taste only in the ultimate beginning, completely replaced by salty notes, roast, lots of hop. Definitely a beer you have to learn to like, ’cause it doesn’t seduce with an easy going flattering taste due to the abandonment of sweetness; comparable to capers or blue mould cheese - but then... awesome.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Chestnut tinged dark brown with creamy tan head that soon collapses to a lacing. Rich coffee and roasted barley notes on the nose. Spiky carbonation obscures initial flavours but finish is coffee, chocolateand tobacco. As it opens up theres some vanilla and caramel with watermelon flavours developing in the aftertaste. Thick and warming, certainly a sipping beer. Definitely see the Dark Arts influence.

Pours almost black, with a beige head.
Massive, roasted aroma, chocolate, coffee beans, smoke, fudge, caramel, hops, hints of vanilla (?), licorice.
Off-dry, full bodied, high bitterness, balanced CO2.
Rich, roasted taste, lots of malt, chocolate, coffee, smoke, tobacco, licorice, black cherries, hops, ashes. Will probably age beautifully.
