Cannonball is an India Pale Ale in the true tradition, high in alcohol and massively hopped to survive a long sea voyage. We don’ t want you to wait though, crack the cap and let the flavour explode on your palate. Tropically fruity, resinous hops compete against a sweet malty backbone, while a rasping bitterness builds to a mouth puckering crescendo. Our hop bomb might just blow you away…

Tap at Toit’s in Tallinn (various occasions during summer/autumn 2014). € 4 for 0,33. Pours a very hazy orange, while the light beige head retains well and leaves some lacing. Strong citrusy and piney aroma, also tropical and fruity fresh, but slightly yeasty too. The very bitter, resinous taste and dry palate keep begging for another sip. Good malt backbone. Medium body and carbonation, resiny-sticky palate. A very solid IPA, great to wash down one of Toit’s tasty burgers.

Keg in the North Bar, Leeds. Lovely big caramel and pine hop flavour. Very tasty with big flavour. Masses of juicy tropical pine notes. Delicious.

Half-pint from a keg font at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 10th June 2014. Dull gold with a slight haze, white wispy head. All about the hops, not much else to say, the malt content seemed to be completely overrun by the bitterness from the resinous hop contingent. I found it OK, but a little too hoppy for my delicate palate.
