2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 madmitch76 (9867) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 29, 2012
15th October 2012 Craft. Light haze on this amber - gold beer. Decent white head. Palate is thin - very thin! A little dry as well. The hops are as decent as they get for this low abv style. Fresh orange, hop skunk, a little peel. But it’s all built on this weak foundation. Finish is a bit too dry. Good flavour but I could not but help but think I was drinking hop infused water with a dash of soda stream. The body is to weak by far.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6982) - London, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2012
Cask at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Pours faintly hazy yellow with a fine, white cream head. Terribly inviting aroma, some piss, sweet lemon, some pale malts, straw. Light sweet flavor with dry straw, background dough, light grassy hops, mellow pee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Pleasant finish with some orange and tangerine, light grapefruit, a bit more pee and grass, enought pale malts. Quite a nice little low ABV offering.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maeib (7557) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2012
Cask conditioned handpump Craft Beer Co Brixton 11/10/12. A golden beer with whitish bubbles for a head. Good hops here but there is a hint of diacetyl in the mouth, Slight sweet toffee notes which usually come from NZ hops for me but these are US or AUS so that’s odd. Has that papery edge that high hopped low ABV beers can have. It’s decent but a bit of an underperformer for Magic Rock.
