Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

September 12, 2014 - at Southampton Arms; handpull. Dark ruby-black pour, not too thick-looking - average bubbly tan head. Aroma and taste mostly chocolate/coffee medium-deep roast malt with light herbal bitterness to balance, definite alcohol presence; anise and date malt sweetness in the taste ... slick, slightly light body, mild carbonation, with a little more bitterness in the finish, left a slight acidic coffee/stewed prune aftertaste. Solid.

Cask in pelt trader. Superior stout. Bitter with some fruity flavours accompanying the usual coffee, chocolate etc. I’m more of an ipa man but I enjoyed this. Good head retention.

Keg at Brewdog Manchester. A black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate and subtle fruitcake. Taste of roasted malts, cola, raisin, subtle coffee, some liquorice and some woody earthiness near the end. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, roasted bitterness in the finish with subtle cola hints. Much more complex than I thought initially. Mainly roasted flavours with some fruit, liquorice, earth and cola flavours. Really good.
