Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Bottled, 330ml from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Black with light brown head. Roasty, sharp stout, quite spiky in character, not as rounded, bitterness with a resinous hop note, drying and bitter. Good stuff without reaching the real heights.

Cask @ Cask Pub, London

Pours pitch black with a bubbly light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Taste is smooth with hints of roasted malts, licorice and dark chocolate. Finish is slightly roasty with hints of berries. Quite easy to drink but still extremely tasty. Well balanced stout.

Tough one for me this. Lovely smooth feel and no doubt tasty. But I was blown away with the first bottle, then had the 2nd a few days later from same source and was relatively non-plussed. I put this down to the fact that the first bottle was had after smoking something interesting.

Cask at Euston Tap, 4th April 2012. Good solid Stout, not as complex as some, The Kernel for instance. I would drink this ne again for sure

Keg, Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, 03/04/12. Glossy, slightly aubergine-hued black fringed with tan. Lush, Neopolitan, cigar, burnt vanilla and espresso aroma. Deep silken berry tones overlaid with mellow lactic roastedness; mocha, liquorice. Quite a lipsmacker.

On cask. Pours jet black with a thick dark tan head. Chocolates and malty goodness coming from the scent. Licorice, chocolate, blackberry, treacle, a slight alcohol kick. After the sweetness comes the bitter. Makes the finish last long and memorable. Cracker.

This is a black pint with a thin white head Nice to hold in the mouth till swallowed then leaving a strong after taste for some time after But before you swallow take it to the back of the tong and drive it past both sides of the tong One to get again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of candy, toffee, some liquorice. Flavours of roasted malts, burnt caramel, some sweetness and herbal hop too. Perhaps a little too acrid, but a pleasing stout all round.
