Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Cask @ Font, Manchester. Lots of roast coffee on the nose. Follows through to the taste with extra notes of dark fruit and mild hops.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 22/06/12. Black with a little brown edgeing when held to the light and a creamy tan head. Nose is roasted malts, slightly burnt and coffee. Burnt roasted coffee, dark chocolate and malts in the taste. Medium bodied and drinkable, perhaps a little too much in the way of burnt notes for me.

Pours dark brown with some off white bubbles. Smells of roasted malt, some spicy elements. Tastes of light roasty malt, a touch of soy sauce, some spici earthiness on the finish.

On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. A black body with a small beige head. Relatively mild, but nice aroma of dark malt, coffee and roast. Flavor is sweet malt, nice bitterness, chocolate and strong coffee. Medium body. A very nice stout without anything fancy.

Has a spicy texture to begin with, but the subsequent flavours are full, chocolates and roasted malts.

Outstanding full flavoured dry stout. Plenty of hops with roast goodness and depth of flavour. One to be savoured not rushed. If you want a sweet stout then this isn’t for you.

Small beige head. Opaque black body. Earthy coffee aroma with spicy notes. Dryish resiny earthy coffee taste with mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry earthy coffee grounds aftertaste with spicy burnt notes. Nice, vivid, drinkable, but falls off a little at the end. (0.15l sample at Haand 2012.)

A decent bitter stout, but there is a little missing in the aroma, it’s just coffee. the taste is a bit medicinal and bitter. Decent.

Draft at Brewdog Camden. Pours cloudy dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Massive coffee aroma. Flavour like drinking an iced coffee with a smooth bitter finish. Medium bodied with light to medium carbonation.
