3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On keg at the Red Squirrel.
Appearance -opaque black with a nice crema head.
Nose -dark chocolate and roast. Some boozy notes.
Taste - more alcohol and chocolate.
Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a long finish which is quite sweet but brings relative balance.
Overall - I think this is somewhere between a semi imperial stout and a porter.

Cask at Harrild & Sons (Farringdon Rd). Purs pitch black with a thick tan head. Lovely aroma of dark chocolate and coffee. Strong coffee malt taste with a bit of smokiness and sweetness on the finish. Good stout.

Cask @The Vintage, Leith. While i have had this a few times i’d never rated
it. Pours black with a tan head. Huge chocolate malty nose, nutty, chestnuts perhaps. Coffee and chocolate on the palate a wonderful sweet aftertaste, this is what beer should be.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell. An absolute top drop this. Perfect balance between chocolate, roast and sweetness. Has a little liquorice in there which adds that touch more. Very balanced and full bodied. Great beer

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Half pint at Leeds Brewery Tap. As dark as night, absolutely no light to be seen through this beer. Dispersing tan head. Nose predominantly black currant with licorice. This is lost in the initial taste but returns on the smokey finish. Taste includes coffee, smoke and oak. Another fantastic Brew from Magic Rock!!
