COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Half pint at Leeds Brewery Tap. As dark as night, absolutely no light to be seen through this beer. Dispersing tan head. Nose predominantly black currant with licorice. This is lost in the initial taste but returns on the smokey finish. Taste includes coffee, smoke and oak. Another fantastic Brew from Magic Rock!!

Keg at Earl of Essex, Islington. Pours a dark brown/black with a tan head. Aroma has dark fruit, toasted rye, light tropical fruit, orange and a slight floral edge. Medium body, medium carbonation. Some treacle, licorice, cola, rum, prunes, a little dark choc, bitter coffee, cherry with a nicely bitter finish. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From tap. A tall creamy sand-colored head, upon a near black body. Dry roasty and light ashy aroma. Fine notes of coffee ground and dark chocolate. Mid-bodied, dry and chalky. The flavor is much of same as the aroma, with a nice acidic touch in addittion Earthy and light resiny bitterness in a dry finish. Very likeable.

Tap @ Friends of Ham, Leeds. Brilliant, full-tasting creamy stout with dark chocolate, roasted malts and a restrained bitterness. Very well blended with all elements coming together nicely in the glass.

Lovely coffee roasty aroma, pleasantly sweet. Smooth palate, soft carbonation. Lovely roasty body, gentle roast. Touch wooly with dry earthy hops. Nice stout at 6%, English styled, drier than the other stouts we’ve had recently, which is nice.

Just had this to compare with Buxton Imperial Black, and whilst this smelt better, it doesn’t taste as good. Fails to impress to much, gotta dock a point off taste and overall.

Bottled 330ml ABM. Dark brown/black color, good creamy brownish head, lace. Aroma has coffee and some milky notes. Medium to full bodied. Front is roasted, coffeish then finish has sweetier cocoa notes. Lingering toastyness in the aftertaste. Delicate and simplish.
