COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

It seems like some decent but simple stout. Really nothing that gets my excited, but afterall it’s ofcourse not bad.

Cask at Borefts ’14. Black, beige head. Aroma of caramel and roasted nuts, roasted coffee, some tar, chocolate, sweet dark fruits. Flavour is medium-sweet, tar, ash, roasted nuts, chocolate, coffee, bittersweet finish, creamy. Medium-bodied. Great stout imho.

On a festival with radlers, sour ales and all kinds of strange ideas this beer was classic, original and beautiful. It is as perfect as a ’simple’ stout can get. Cask at Borefts 2014.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2015 (CASK@ Magpie , Brentford) . An awesome foreboding black intense beer , a khaki head resembles a sand castle . This stuff surprised me as Im not the biggest fan of low-boost stouts . a powerful bitter dry roast opens ..rich .chocolate covered berries. , powdery dark choc, notes of subtle hops . R8..iam giving an extra point...one of the most memorable low boost stouts i have ever had.

On tap @ Haandfest 2013. Yeah it’s as good as black in the glass and it has a nice medium sized dark brown top. Really deep chocolate on the nose. Dark grounded coffee, black chocolate malts, a little bit of fudge and dark caramel and hints of spice cake. It smells quite nice, not as extreme as I had hoped for in a beer of this reputation and name, but still really nice. The taste has both vanilla and lots of cold dark coffee. It’s light oily on the mouthfeel, not as full-bodied as I had thought and the carbonation level is average. Lots of sweet chocolate, but the beer itself is definitely not sweet. Dark really roasted. A bit minerally in the finish. Surprisingly easy to drink. More a drinker/quencher than a sipper IMO and that’s often a nice thing. 25.05.2013
