Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Lovely coffee roasty aroma, pleasantly sweet. Smooth palate, soft carbonation. Lovely roasty body, gentle roast. Touch wooly with dry earthy hops. Nice stout at 6%, English styled, drier than the other stouts we’ve had recently, which is nice.

Just had this to compare with Buxton Imperial Black, and whilst this smelt better, it doesn’t taste as good. Fails to impress to much, gotta dock a point off taste and overall.

Bottled 330ml ABM. Dark brown/black color, good creamy brownish head, lace. Aroma has coffee and some milky notes. Medium to full bodied. Front is roasted, coffeish then finish has sweetier cocoa notes. Lingering toastyness in the aftertaste. Delicate and simplish.

Cask. Black with a red tinge. Thick small off-white head. Good lacing. Smell - smoke, ash, yeast, fig. Body - medium, not too foamy. Taste - smoked malts, semi-sweet, finish is a bit watery with some astringecy. Not bad overall.

A decent enough beer though magic rock have better beers in there portfolio. I just find the beer slightly lacks in depth, and the finish is on the short side.

Tap@wka. Black. Quite a delicious nose - roasted barley, roasted coffee, some milkchocolate and a bit of green grapes. Light bodied for the flavours, feels a bit sharp. Bitter, but not harsh. A bit of hops, salty licorice, but a lot of roasted barley Ok, but a bit thin.

(Keg at William K Annankatu, 20131025) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, dense and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and cream. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, hops and bitterness. Afteraste had roasted malts, coffee and bitterness. A tasty stout with a bit watery taste but only a little bit.
