Smooth, smoke, chocolate, burned toast.
The bitterness makes sure it does not get too silky.
Dark fruit, grain. Very pleasant.

Bottle from MyBrewerytap.com. Pours pitch black with a big spongy tanned head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark bittter chocolate. Taste is smooth, oily mouthfeel, dark chocolate, bitter liquorice, medium bodied. Lingering with all the goodies lurking in the shadow, dark malts, roast, liquorice. A winner for me, this one, even though a bit weak body.

Bottle at home from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Black as the abyss, with a wee (not literally) tan head. Nose was roasted malts, dark fruit and dark chocolate. Very tasty flavour which had plenty to say for itself with notes of coffee, licorice, dark fruit and chocolate. Dried out towards the finish. Sign me up for the dark side then please Mr Necromancer.

Dark color with a airy light-brown head. The aroma’s of roasted malts, espresso and brown sugar. The taste is bitter and hoppier than most stouts I’ve tried. The mouthfeel’s medium and a bit oily. This isn’t your standard stout, and I appreciate the creativity.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superflyguy (410) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 9, 2011
lushious.
pours pitch black with a fluffy tan head. bags of roast malts and coffee in the nose. a hint of alcohol too.
chocolate, coffee, licorice and roasted malts to the fore in the mouth
loses a couple of marks as its not quite as thick as I’d like, but it’s a minor gripe.
thefinsih just goes on and on with the flavours bouncing around your mouth.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2012 Cask at Craft Beer. Deep black colour, aromas strongly of coffee and some black chocolate. Taste is smooth, lots of roast, coffee again, very complex yet without excessive bitterness. Very long finish. Alcoholic but not aggressively so. Excellent.
